Additional Persecution News from China – May 31, 2025 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked

8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Jinlin and Ms. Song Shuzhi Detained
9. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xinxiang Detained

1. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested, Two Detained

Ms. Hao Liyan, Ms. Zhao Junfang, and Ms. Zhang Meihua were arrested on the morning of May 28, 2025. Ms. Zhao and Ms. Zhang were taken to Anshan City and detained for 10 days. Ms. Hao was given 10 days detention, which wasn’t enforced because of her advanced age. She was released that night.

2. [Beian City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Detained

Several practitioners were arrested in the Fudi Residential District on the morning of May 13, 2025. Li Dianrong, Li Shuangfeng, Sun Jilan, Dou Xuehua, and Wang Mengxin’s mother were detained in Beian for 15 days. Wang Mengxin and Jiao Xichen were detained in nearby Heihe City. An insider revealed that the police had been monitoring the practitioners’ cell phones, and the order to arrest them came from the provincial public security bureau.

3. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Pengcheng and Fu Chongchun’s Appeal Denied

Mr. Qu Pengcheng, 59, and Fu Chongchun, gender unknown, were tried by Liaoyang City’s Dengta Court on December 3, 2024. Mr. Qu was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. Fu was sentenced to two-and-a-half-years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan. They appealed with the Liaoyang City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold their original verdicts without having a hearing on May 19, 2025.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Yaning’s Motion to Reconsider Her Case Denied

Ms. Cui Yaning was arrested on October 24, 2023, and detained for ten days, charged with “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization,” the standard pretext used to criminalize Falun Gong. She filed a reconsideration request with the Linghai City Government on December 18, 2023, but to no avail.

Ms. Cui filed an administrative lawsuit against the Linghai City Police Department and the Linghai City Government on January 24, 2024, for failing to address her request to reconsider her ten-day detention in late 2023. The Linghai City Court accepted the case on April 17, 2024. The judge initially scheduled a hearing for May 22, 2024, but canceled it without explanation. Ms. Cui was informed on June 25, 2024, that she had lost the case.

She filed an appeal on July 2, 2024, but the case wasn’t delivered to the Jinzhou City Intermediate Court until September 3, 2024. The judge scheduled the hearing for September 10, but again canceled it on September 8. Ms. Cui received a letter through express mail on September 15 to say that her appeal had been denied.

She again filed a motion to reconsider her case through the Liaoning Province High Court, which accepted the case on December 16, 2024, and ruled to deny it on May 19, 2025.

5. [Linfen City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Bai Heli Arrested

Mr. Bai Heli, who was retired from the Huozhou Power Plant, was arrested around May 25, 2025, while he was distributing Falun Gong flyers. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong items were confiscated. While he was released shortly after, he was summoned to the Huodong Police Department for interrogation on May 30, 2025.

6. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked

Ms. Li Jinmin’s home was raided by eight officers on around 10 a.m. on May 22, 2025. Her computer and printer were confiscated. The police then went to the shared residence of Ms. Li Shuqin and her daughter, Ms. Su Nan, and confiscated their Falun Gong books and two computers.

7. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Pei Huancai Arrested

Pei Huancai, gender unknown, was arrested on the afternoon of May 28, 2025, by officers from Anci District Domestic Security Division, Qiaoxi Police Station, Nanmenwai Police Station, and Xinkai Road Police Station. The officers confiscated Pei’s printers, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and other items. Pei was released after 7 p.m. but was summoned to the police station the next morning and released that night.

Pei was again summoned to the police station on the morning of May 30, 2025. It’s not clear whether Pei was ever released.

8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Jinlin and Ms. Song Shuzhi Detained

Ms. Liang Jinling and Ms. Song Shuzhi of Sanshijiazi Town were detained in May 2025 for ten days.

9. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xinxiang Detained

Ms. Wang Xinxiang was arrested on May 13, 2025. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in Changliu Village.
