Bulgaria: Rally and Events in Sofia Commemorate the April 25 Appeal

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in Sofia on Friday, April 25, 2025, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 appeal in China.

Banners were displayed with messages in Chinese, English, and Bulgarian: “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Falun Dafa Is Good,” and “Stop Live Organ Harvesting.” Many passerby and drivers slowed down to read the messages.

Peyo Ivanov, coordinator of the Falun Dafa Association of Bulgaria, called on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop persecuting Falun Dafa during the rally on April 25.

During the rally, practitioners told the public about the April 25 appeal. Twenty-six years ago, more than 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners peacefully appealed at the State Appeals Office in Beijing on April 25, 1999, to ask for the release of practitioners who had been illegally arrested by police in Tianjin. However, the CCP nonetheless began persecuting the practice in July.

Peyo Ivanov said, “What is most disturbing is evidence that the CCP systematically and forcibly harvests organs from Falun Dafa practitioners on a large scale. Human rights experts and lawyers have called this unprecedented human rights violation a genocide.”

The media outlet Actualno.com reported on the practitioners’ peaceful appeal with an article titled, “Defending Human Rights: Protest in Front of the Chinese Embassy.” The media outlet Bulphoto also sent a photographer to cover the event.

On April 26, 2025, practitioners held the Art of Zhen Shan Ren International Exhibition at the entrance of South Park in Sofia to help more people learn about Falun Dafa.
