Washington, DC: Falun Dafa Welcomed in Memorial Day Parades

(Minghui.org) The last Monday of May is Memorial Day in the U.S. Events are held across the country to honor military personnel who died while serving in the armed services. Many cities hold parades to honor them.

Falun Dafa practitioners participated in Memorial Day Parades in Rockville, Maryland and Falls Church, Virginia, and people learned about Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Parade in Maryland

Practitioners were welcomed in the parade in Rockville, Maryland on May 26. When they passed by the viewing stage, the moderator introduced Falun Dafa.

Jane remarked, “I like it very much. They are so peaceful and serene, and I want to know more.”

When Jane saw the “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” banner, she said, “This deeply touched my heart. Yes, that’s true. These words should exist in everyone’s heart, regardless of race, religious beliefs or any other factors. They should exist in everyone’s heart.”

When Elena and her mother saw the practitioners, they kept clapping and happily accepted a flyer about Falun Dafa. Elena said this was the first time they heard about Falun Dafa. “They are great, the parade is beautiful and peaceful. I thought it was like a therapy. It felt great.”

Elena said, “I think Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very needed now, so we should introduce the principles to everyone and the public. This is good. As a society, we work hard and also need to take care of ourselves.”

Angela said this was the first time that she saw practitioners in a parade. About Falun Dafa she said, “It’s beautiful. I like it. They spread the message of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.” Seeing practitioners demonstrating the exercises on the float, Angela said, “I felt very good, it was great.”

Parade in Virginia

A Memorial Day parade was held in Falls Church, Virginia on Monday at 2 p.m. Along the parade route, many people took flyers handed out by practitioners. Some carefully read them, while others talked with practitioners. Many people were eager to learn about Falun Dafa.

Heather said that she’s seen practitioners in parades several times. “They are great, I like them very much. Every time they play waist drums, the rhythm is very beautiful, I like it very much.” Heather said the message of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance conveyed by Falun Dafa practitioners is nice.

Chris and his wife sat on the side of the road and watched the parade. He said this was the first time he’s seen Falun Dafa practitioners and he was very curious. Seeing the banner that read: “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion- and Forbearance,” Chris said, “I think it’s great. Yes, I think it’s a good idea.”

Dean and his family watched the parade from the sidewalk. After reading a flyer, he said this was the first time he’d seen practitioners or heard about Falun Dafa. “I think it’s interesting. Everything is about your mind, your body, and your soul.” He said that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is a very good message and brings people peace.

Billy said he’s seen practitioners participating in parades on TV before, but this was the first time he saw them in person. “I like them very much. They are very positive and have a positive influence. I think Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are great and have a positive impact on the community.”
