Additional Persecution News from China – May 14, 2025 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Peng Zuyin, Ms. She Xingmin, Ms. Zhang Zhanping, and Ms. Yu Shenghua, all from Dazhu County, have been held in custody for seven months. They were scheduled to appear in the Dazhou City Court on May 15, 2025.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Shuling’s Daughter Harassed and Son-in-Law Taken to Police Station

Officers from the Changjiang Street Police Station in the Fengman District went to Ms. Li Shuling’s daughter’s home on the afternoon of May 9, 2025, to look for her, who was not present. The officers said to Ms. Li’s daughter, “Officers from the city police department specifically asked them to locate Li Shuling. She might have been videotaped somewhere.” The officers took Ms. Li’s son-in-law, Mr. Liu Chengda, to the police station for interrogation and later released him.

On the same afternoon, an officer went to Ms. Li’s home and asked for their phone numbers, with the excuse to check the water meter.

3. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qiao Shuzhen was arrested downstairs of her apartment building on April 22, 2025, by police officers, who then ransacked her home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They also took her keys and searched seven rooms. They also wanted to take her husband away, he refused. During pushing and shoveling, he fell down and suffered a deep cut in his leg. Ms. Qiao was detained for five days.

In addition, Ms. Liang Shujuan was surrounded by several officers as soon as she stepped out of the door on April 23. They tied her up, searched her home, and confiscated her Falun Gong books and personal belongings. Ms. Liang was detained for five days. During her detention, she was forced to sign and fingerprint documents.

Four other practitioners were arrested along with Ms. Liang. But their names aren’t known at the time of the writing.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. He Arrested

Ms. He, a native of Gansu Province who moved to Changchun City to look after her grandchild, was arrested at her daughter’s home by officers from the Nanling Police Station in the Nanguan District on the morning of April 23, 2025. She was taken to a lockup for 15 days and transferred to a detention center on May 8.

5. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Yue Arrested

Ms. Jin Yue mailed a complaint against the police for persecuting her. The Daguan Township Post Office intercepted her letter. She went there to clarify the facts about Falun Gong on the morning of May 12, 2025, only to be arrested by Li Yongsheng and other officers from the Cang County Police Department.

6. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Xiuzhen’s Daughter Harassed

Si Guangtao, a residential officer from the Shapo Police Station, went to the home of Ms. Li Xiuzhen’s daughter on the morning of May 13, 2025. Si asked her where her mother lived, and ordered her to warn her mother not to go out to tell people about Falun Gong. Si also took pictures of Ms. Li’s daughter without her permission.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun’s Bank Deposit Withdrawn by Police

Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun from the Chuangyezhuang Residential Community was sentenced to eight years in prison. She is being held in Harbin Women’s Prison. A few days ago, Ms. Cheng’s non-practitioner husband went to the bank to withdraw cash from her 20,000-yuan savings deposit, which had matured. Bank clerks told him that funds in the account had already been withdrawn by the Longnan District Police Department.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Li Kunfang Detained

Li Kunfang from Daijiazhuang Village, Yunshan Town, Pingdu City, a county-level City under Qingdao City, was arrested on May 12, 2025, by the Yunshan Town police for hanging up a Falun Gong banner. The police ransacked Li’s home and took Li to the Pudong Detention Center the next day.
