Events Held Throughout Spain to Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day

(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Spain held events in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, and Gran Canaria to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, which is also Master Li’s birthday.

During the events, practitioners demonstrated the exercises and distributed information about Falun Dafa. They displayed photos and banners with words such as “Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day,” “Falun Dafa,” “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance” to tell people about Falun Dafa. Passersby were attracted to the soothing music and the banners and talked with practitioners. Some took photos and videos while others learned the exercises. People also signed the petition to end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

Falun Dafa was introduced to the public in China by Master Li Hongzhi in 1992. Since then, it has spread around the world and is practiced by millions of people, who say Falun Dafa improved not only their mental and physical health, but also their moral integrity.

Human rights lawyer Ms. Iraya was shocked when she heard about the persecution. She said curiosity led her to the booth. She did not know about Falun Dafa or the persecution that practitioners have endured all these years. She signed the petition and left her mobile phone number and said she wished to discuss the issue in depth. She said she was deeply moved by Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearanc,e and she wants to do her part to help practitioners.

An elderly couple came to the information booth. The man said he was a retired professor and a devout Catholic. He could not understand why the CCP did such inhumane things to Falun Dafa practitioners and said the persecution was very cruel. He also expressed his utmost respect for Falun Dafa practitioners for persisting in exposing the CCP’s evil deeds all these years, and said their persistence and determination have helped everyone know the truth.

A tourist and his family from Tenerife talked with practitioners. After they learned that such a good practice is persecuted by the CCP, he and his family of five signed the petition. The children listened attentively as practitioners explained what Falun Dafa is. Practitioners gave each one a small lotus flower.

Jimi from England said he loves China’s traditional culture. He knew that during the Cultural Revolution, the CCP killed many monks and destroyed temples. He said this happened years ago, so he was surprised the CCP still persecuted religious beliefs. He felt the gods would definitely punish the CCP because it did so much evil, and this would happen soon. When he heard that Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, rooted in Buddhist tradition, and that all the Falun Dafa books and music can be downloaded for free, Jimi was very surprised and kept saying, “Your practice is so righteous. I will definitely look into it and learn more about it!”
