Bulgaria: People Express Support for Falun Dafa at Event in Pomorie

(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Bulgaria held an event in Pomorie on Sunday, May 4, 2025, to tell people about Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party’s 26-year-long persecution. Pomorie is the third-largest city on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria and a popular vacation destination for Bulgarians that’s known for its vibrant cultural scene.

Practitioners set up an information booth at an intersection of the main pedestrian street and a small street leading to the sea. They presented two petitions at their booth: the first condemned the CCP’s human rights violations and persecution of Falun Dafa, and the second called on the Bulgarian government to prevent Bulgarian people from becoming complicit in the CCP's operations of forced organ harvesting that targets practitioners. They also demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, attracting passersby. People spoke with practitioners, and many signed the petitions.

Father Ioannicius read the banners and the information and, without asking for more clarification, signed the petitions. He said he already knew about the persecution.

Father Ioannicius suggested that practitioners move their activity to the local St. George’s Monastery, where there was a large gathering and more people.

Rumen and Nikolai, preteens on their way to go fishing, stopped and asked what the event was about after seeing the banners and the booth. They listened and took flyers for their parents.

One boy asked, “If we sign these petitions, will that help stop this violence?” After being told that their signatures would help, they signed them.
