(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Juye County, Shandong Province] 85-Year-Old Ms. Wang Xiangling Sentenced to Prison
2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] 78-Year-Old Ms. Sun Wenwen Taken to Prison
3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Fenglian, Her Daughter and Son-in-Law Arrested
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Mu Xiuxiang Denied Family Visits While Serving a Six-Year Term
5. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Huo Guilan Faces Second Hearing
6. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Family of Three Arrested
7. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fu Renjiang Missing
1. [Juye County, Shandong Province] 85-Year-Old Ms. Wang Xiangling Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Wang Xiangling, 85, was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Yuncheng County Court in February 2025.
2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] 78-Year-Old Ms. Sun Wenwen Taken to Prison
Ms. Sun Wenwen, 78, was arrested by officers from the Longfeng Police Station on May 17, 2022. She was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 16,000 yuan in May 2023. She was first held at the Nangou Detention Center and has been admitted to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison around March 2025.
3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Fenglian, Her Daughter and Son-in-Law Arrested
Ms. Yang Fenglian, her daughter Ms. Du Likun, and her son-in-law Mr. Ma Yongxiao were arrested by Hanshan District Police Department at 11 p.m. on February 19, 2025. The police and local detention centers are denying their lawyers from visiting them.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Mu Xiuxiang Denied Family Visits While Serving a Six-Year Term
Ms. Mu Xiuxiang, 78, was arrested in April 2024 and sentenced to six years in October 2024. As of February 2025, the Jilin Province Women’s Prison still doesn’t allow her family to visit her.
5. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Huo Guilan Faces Second Hearing
Ms. Huo Guilan was scheduled to appear in the Jintai District Court at 2 p.m. on March 24, 2025 for her second hearing.
6. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Family of Three Arrested
Mr. He Xiding was arrested at his workplace by five officers led by Cao Yahui, director of Baizhuang Township Police Station at 7 p.m. on March 9, 2025. At the same time, his wife and their son, who don’t practice Falun Gong, were also arrested at home by the Chengqu Police Department in Shenze County.
Mr. He’s wife and son were released and they returned home on the evening of March 10. Mr. He was detained for seven days at the Wuji County Detention Center. He returned home on March 17, after being forced to pay 450 yuan for the food cost.
7. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fu Renjiang Missing
Mr. Fu Renjiang was harassed in January 2025 after being reported for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police attempted to arrest him, but he escaped. His family lost contact with him since February 2025.
