(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported on the abuse of Falun Gong practitioners incarcerated for their faith in Sichuan Province Women’s Prison. This report provides additional information.

As soon as a practitioner is newly admitted to the prison, which is located in the capital city of Chengdu, she is ordered to write a statement to admit her “guilt.” If she writes the statement under pressure, she forfeits her right to a full appeal, which allows a convicted person to argue for her acquittal. She can only argue for a reduced sentence, not acquittal.

As indicated in the previous Minghui.org report, she must also pass two tests and face questioning by agents from the prison’s supervising agency to see if she has met the “standard” for renouncing Falun Gong. If she fails to pass the supervising agency’s interrogation, she has to write more statements to denounce and renounce Falun Gong. She also has to read her statements out loud in front of other inmates and be questioned by the guards. She must also sing pro-CCP songs and have every move recorded. After that, she is “examined” by the supervising agency again to see if she can now pass muster.

If the practitioner does not write the initial statement to admit guilt, she is only allowed one bathroom break every 24 hours. She is not allowed to purchase daily necessities or have her family send in items. She is not given sanitary pads during her period. She is barred from washing herself and faces taunting for her bad smell.

More punishment comes her way if she remains adamant about her innocence. She is forced to sit on a small stool or squat in a military pose for at least 20 minutes each torture session. She is not allowed to move at all. Such torture often results in excruciating pain and profuse sweating. The inmates monitoring her further threaten to put her in solitary confinement or restrain her in a bed in a spread-eagle position.

Besides the torture, she is also forced to watch propaganda videos defaming Falun Gong. When she points out the loopholes in those videos, the guards often ignore her.

The relentless brainwashing and torture have resulted in the deaths of at least 22 Falun Gong practitioners over the years.
