(Minghui.org) A Beijing woman was sentenced to three years for her faith in Falun Gong, Minghui.org recently learned.

Ms. Zhao Yanhua, around 43, was arrested at 5 p.m. on October 12, 2023, after she was seen on surveillance camera distributing Falun Gong informational materials in a residential area. The arresting officers from the Hujialou Police Station in Chaoyang District searched her and took her to an unknown detention center.

Ms. Zhao’s family has since been kept in the dark of her case status. They learned recently that the Shunyi District Court convicted her and that she is now serving time at the Beijing Women’s Prison. Her prison transfer likely happened before October 2024, and other details of her prosecution are unknown.

This is not the first time that Ms. Zhao, a fire protection engineer, has been targeted for her faith. She was previously arrested on November 15, 2019 and sentenced to three years by the same Shunyi District Court on September 16, 2020. Her family was not allowed to attend her trial, yet the verdict blatantly stated that “the court formed a collegial panel and held an open hearing of the case.”
