My Experience Promoting Shen Yun 2025

(Minghui.org) Promoting Shen Yun in 2025 feels very special. First of all, I am very grateful to Master for giving his disciples the opportunity to save sentient beings and establish mighty virtue. On the other hand, I feel the difficulty of saving people and the urgency of time.

I still remember clearly the last day Shen Yun performed in our local theater in 2024. Early in the morning, a fellow practitioner called and said he wanted to buy a ticket for an ordinary person. I quickly checked online, but our website was closed, and there were no tickets. I went to the theater website and saw there were no tickets available there either. I double-checked and confirmed that all the tickets were sold out!

I went from disbelief to tears of joy, with the thought in my heart: “Finally, we did it!” When we promoted tickets in 2024, we visited every single theater, and we didn’t dare to let up for even a second until the last day.

There were four performances this January, so we didn’t have that much time to promote ticket sales. The difficulty of saving people increased, and the requirements for our own state of cultivation were also higher. At first, I felt a lot of pressure, but then I focused on doing a solid job. The goal is to save as many people as possible and try not to leave any regrets. I devoted all my spare time to promoting Shen Yun, which was of the utmost importance.

I want to share my experiences promoting Shen Yun.

Cooperating Unconditionally

To promote Shen Yun, I have participated in several small projects and worked with different people. I have set myself the goal of doing my best to cooperate in whatever way I can without adding my own ideas to the process and just focusing on doing what I need to do well. What I do is just one part of the whole process, and I am determined to do my part well.

Therefore, I don’t comment on the arrangements made by the coordinators, and I don't have any personal emotions. Some arrangements and some things I might not understand, but when I encountered them, I saw them as an opportunity for me to cultivate and improve.

If we can cooperate in this process with the mindset of a cultivator, we are truly helping. We all wish the best for Shen Yun. There were some hiccups in the beginning, but if we cooperate, there will be a good result.

Saving People with Dedication

I have been involved in promoting Shen Yun for more than ten years. The sacred feeling of saving people has gradually faded. I participated in selling tickets at the booth, posting posters, handing out flyers, and hanging pamphlets on door handles, but when I look inward, I find that my level of dedication is not that high. But there is one thing that touched me deeply.

Once, I worked with two other practitioners to sell tickets at a booth. They were at the booth all day, not eating, only drinking water, and seldom going to the restroom. They said that selling tickets at the booth was always like this. Later I realized that it was because of Master’s blessing that they did not have any notions. When they were just concentrating on introducing Shen Yun and saving people, this kind of extraordinary state would occur.

I remember that day. When one of them helped a couple buy tickets, she also helped two of the couple’s friends in Las Vegas book tickets because their friends would be visiting that weekend and the four of them wanted to sit together. It took a long time to book the tickets, and there were a lot of twists and turns, and from time to time, the practitioner patiently mediated the unpleasant quarrels between the couple because they had different opinions about inviting their friends.

What made it more difficult was that the two friends in Las Vegas insisted on paying for their own tickets. The practitioners just wouldn’t give up despite all the trouble and eventually got the four of them seated together where they should be.

The gentleman was touched by the practitioner’s demeanor and patience. He suddenly turned to me and said, “You should learn from her. She is an excellent salesperson.” She is a Dafa disciple, trying to save people with all her heart. Compared to her, I saw the gap: I was not trying hard enough. If I’d been faced with such the difficult situation, would I have persevered? The state that the practitioner had was not achieved overnight. It requires a strong desire to save people.

When promoting Shen Yun again this year, I will constantly check myself to see if I am slacking off or just checking off tasks. In addition, when I meet people face-to-face, even if my English is limited, I think that, as a Dafa disciple, if I speak from my heart, I will make an impact.

Maintaining Shen Yun’s Image

This year, practitioners can hand out flyers at major supermarkets, large chain stores, or on the street. Although the form is grassroots, we cannot do it casually. Shen Yun showcases traditional culture, and those who help promote it must pay attention to our image.

I dress appropriately and hand flyers to customers who have finished shopping and are leaving. This can prevent them from forgetting the flyers in their shopping carts.

When I hand out Shen Yun flyers in a parking lots, I usually stay a couple meters away from the person, hold up the flyers, and greet them. If the person wants it, I hand it to them. If not, I politely wish them a nice day.

If I see someone carrying something heavy, I ask if they need help or if I can help hold the shopping cart or push the shopping cart away after they are done. They are very grateful, and I will naturally offer them a flyer. About 99% of them gladly accept. Some people do not want flyers, but at least it will leave a positive impression on them.

I was also very careful to avoid the staff who were collecting shopping carts in the parking lot and to make sure there were no flyers left in the empty shopping carts. I tried my best to be considerate of the employees and not make more work for them. If they are not happy with us, it may not be a big deal for us personally, but it will affect Shen Yun’s image.

Cherish the Opportunity

While promoting Shen Yun, I realized that, as long as we go out with a heart to save people, Master will send people with predestined relationships to us. Almost every time I go out, I meet people who say, “I’ve always wanted to see Shen Yun.” Sometimes, I don’t need to say much—the flyers in my hand are enough to attract them.

Once, I was at a farmers market when a middle-aged woman came walking towards me from across the street. She was dressed very fashionably, with tattoos all over her neck and no expression on her face. She didn’t even look at me. I hesitated momentarily, but I smiled, said hello, and offered her a Shen Yun flyer.

She still didn’t look at me, only glanced at the Shen Yun flyer. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and her face grew expressive. She said, “I noticed the advertisement and was wondering what it was.” I quickly introduced Shen Yun and told her that it portrays China before communism and displays pure traditional culture, that they are from New York, not China, and they tour the world tour every year.

As she listened with great interest, I said, “I hope you don’t miss this year’s performance. People who have seen Shen Yun say that it is a gift from heaven.” She said, “I promise to read the flyer. Thank you for letting me know about it.” She turned around and walked a few steps, then returned to say, “Can I give you a hug?” I said, “Of course.” She gave me a big hug and said thanked me over and over again. I clearly felt that she and I had a deep connection at that moment. I was delighted that I had not missed her because of a momentary lapse of thought. As long as we go out, we may meet the right person because it is all arranged by the Master in an orderly manner.

In promoting Shen Yun, every Dafa disciple who fulfills their mission will reap great rewards in cultivation. Just as Master says,

“However much you sacrifice is the amount you will gain—this is the principle.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)

Master will give his disciples the best. I hope that more practitioners will step forward and participate in promoting Shen Yun, because when we move, the beings in the heavenly world we correspond to will also move. With so many Dafa disciples and many beings in the celestial world moving, the tickets will be sold out quickly.

Last year, I was involved in front desk service and met a young practitioner who had come from China on a business trip. She had just arrived in the U.S. and learned that Shen Yun was performing that weekend, so she took public transportation from her residence to the theater early in the morning in the rain and wind, hoping to get a ticket. As I helped her buy her ticket, I listened to her talk about the harsh cultivation environment in China and her desire to see Shen Yun. She was so happy when she finally bought the ticket. Watching her look of anticipation and excitement, I was overwhelmed with emotion.

We are fortunate to cultivate in a relaxed environment outside of China. We are even more lucky to participate in the Shen Yun project led by Master to save sentient beings and foster our own cultivation. How honored we are among the hundreds of millions of Dafa disciples worldwide.

Master said:

“Of all the projects we have for saving people, Shen Yun is the most powerful.” (2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C., Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XV)

I cautioned myself to cherish the opportunity.

Closing Remarks

I remember watching the 2024 Shen Yun performance. When I saw the Creator issue the decree to “follow me to the world to save sentient beings” and the gods followed the Creator to the world, three words came to my mind: “Obey Master’s orders.” Disciples must remember this: Obey Master’s orders and save more sentient beings.
