(Minghui.org) I learned Falun Dafa in 1998 by reading the book Zhuan Falun and learned the exercises by watching videos online. My impressions of Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, came from reading articles on Minghui.org written by practitioners who had attended Master’s lectures. After reading the recent special report, “Our Master,” I came to understand and felt touched, that over the years, Master has not changed no matter where he is.

When describing Master, the article said, “Whether it’s the toughest areas or the heaviest labor, Master is there. When lifting timber, he always chooses the heavier end. He regularly cleans up debris.” “When no one wants to clean up a muddy water pit, Master silently steps in and takes care of it. When there are small rocks on the road, he picks them up and tosses them aside to prevent the pavement from being damaged by wheels. Nails on the construction site or road? Master picks them up, sorts them, and takes them to the storage room. He guides Shen Yun’s visual arts, designs costumes and props, teaches vocal technique, oversees the creation of new pieces, and ensures the highest artistic standards. Amid his busy schedule and during travels, when he finds a spare moment, he pulls out a simple paper folder in which to write lyrics and compose music, “... he never takes any money for himself. Instead, he sets the example and teaches everyone the importance of frugality,” “... whether at Dragon Springs or while traveling, in the morning, Master washes his clothes, skips breakfast, or drinks a little water and coffee. For lunch, he eats a light meal at Dragon Springs’ cafeteria, and for dinner, it’s usually a bowl of dumpling soup, or cold rice with hot water and pickled vegetables.” He does not accept any money from any of the entities or projects he contributes to.

With limited time, Master makes the most use of it and does many things, from sophisticated thinking to physical labor, including meticulously picking up rocks. His creation, Shen Yun, is internationally successful, yet he does not accept any money. He eats simple meals like he did when he lived in China.

Master said,

“I have not only taught you Dafa, but have also left you my demeanor.” (“Clearheadedness,” Essentials For Further Advancement)

When I look at myself and compare myself to Master, he is incomparable. At every meal, I make sure there are several dishes with a good mix of vegetables and meat on the table. I get excited to go to different markets to pick up the ingredients. To look good and to keep my favorite snacks on hand, I go to wholesale stores. When I cross the road, I jaywalk to save time without thinking about safety. Master said, “… he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details.” (“Sage,” Essentials For Further Advancement). Master leads by example, yet, until I read that article, I had not watched and learned.

Master teaches the Fa to save the universe from destruction and helps practitioners reach consummation and accomplish their mission of saving beings. Master also bears tribulations and suffers for practitioners and the people of the world. He guides the operation of Dafa projects and ensures that Shen Yun saves as many people around the world as possible. The things I do can never compare to Master’s tireless efforts.

After reading “Our Master,” my mind became clear. I am determined to not only do the three things well but also pay attention to the minor details. I will eliminate various notions and my attachments to comfort and resentment.

Please point out anything that is not in line with the teachings.
