(Minghui.org) As part of its celebration of the 2025 Lunar New Year, Icon Mall in Bali hosts a series of cultural performances and traditional Chinese festivities throughout January and February. The Falun Dafa community was invited to participate, and gave a waist drum and phoenix dance performance on February 2, 2025.
Icon Mall is one of the main shopping centers in Denpasar, Bali. Located along the shores of Sanur Beach, it’s also a popular tourist destination.
Falun Dafa practitioners captivate the audience with a one-hour waist drum and phoenix dance performance on the cultural stage.
Introducing Falun Dafa During the Performance
The emcee introduced Falun Dafa and highlighted the persecution in China. He described Falun Dafa’s five exercises, its health benefits, and introduced its main book, Zhuan Falun.
The emcee introduced the practice and spoke about the persecution faced by Falun Dafa practitioners in China, and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) smear campaign against the practice worldwide.
Due to Falun Dafa’s rapid growth and popularity in the 1990s, then-CCP leader Jiang Zemin saw it as a threat to the Party’s power and ideology. The CCP launched a crackdown on July 20, 1999, leading to the arrest, torture, and detention of practitioners. Many were subjected to forced organ harvesting, with their organs being sold to transplant patients both domestically and internationally.
“Communists Kill Their Own People”
Some audience members shared their impressions of the practitioners’ performance at the afternoon event, and expressed their views on the persecution taking place in China.
Steve from Australia praised the practitioners’ performance.
Steve, a tourist from Sydney, Australia, said, “I think they did a great job. I really enjoyed it.” When practitioners explained the persecution of Falun Dafa by the communist regime in China, Steve said he was already aware of the persecution, and he strongly condemned the CCP regime. He said, “Communists are despicable; they kill their own people and imprison prisoners of conscience! I hope China becomes a democratic country. The communists should be completely removed, and then there should be freedom of belief.”
Lewis and his three daughters watched the practitioners’ performance.
Another audience member, Lewis from the U.K., attended with his three daughters, taking seats in the front row. He said that he thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and was impressed by Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, which he believes are much needed in today’s society.
