(Minghui.org) Four Laizhou City, Shandong Province, residents were arrested days apart in December 2025, because they practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. They are all currently held in Yantai City, which oversees Laizhou City.

One Arrested on December 4

Ms. Teng Qinhua, who was serving a three-year sentence outside of prison for practicing Falun Gong, reported to the Laizhou City Police Department on December 4 as scheduled. She gave the police a flash drive containing information about Falun Gong and was searched. They arrested her on the spot and later took her to an unknown location in Yantai City.

Ms. Teng, in her 70s, was previously arrested on May 8, 2023 and released on bail hours later. She was sentenced to three years on May 20, 2024 and allowed to serve time at home. Starting in October 2024, she was ordered to take a picture of herself at home every day and text it to the Chenggang Police Station. She was also ordered to report to the police weekly to sign some paperwork. It is unclear whether she has been made to continue her prison sentence following her latest arrest in December 2025 or re-start her three-year sentence from the latest arrest day.

Two Arrested on December 9

Ms. Pan Xiufang and her daughter Ms. Cheng Yonghui were arrested on December 9, while talking to people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Pinglidian Town Police Station transferred them to a facility in Yantai City.

One Arrested on December 10

Ms. Wang Ping, 69, talked to a man about Falun Gong on December 10 and he grabbed her. He reported her to the police, who soon arrived to arrest her. Her home was also raided and she is currently held at an unknown location in Yantai City.

Ms. Wang retired from the Laizhou City Xinhua Bookstore. She suffered from superficial gastritis, duodenal ulcer, chronic cholecystitis, and intractable neurasthenia when she was young. In 1994, she was further diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (a form of spinal arthritis) and life became even more unbearable for her.

After she took up Falun Gong in 1996, Ms. Wang recovered from all her symptoms in just a few months. Her family life also became harmonious again.

Ms. Wang held firm to her faith after the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. She was arrested many times over the years. On May 8, 2006, she was stopped while driving to visit a family member who was jailed for practicing Falun Gong. Officers Liu Jingbing, Xu Qinghua, and Shi Bingtao took her to a brainwashing center. Five guards took turns beating her. When the in-house doctor examined her injuries, he was stunned and uttered, “They beat you too hard!”

Ms. Wang was later given one and a half years at the Shandong Province Second Women’s Labor Camp.
