Tribulations Occur When There are Loopholes in Our Cultivation

(Minghui.org) I’d like to share the stories of two fellow practitioners, Aiqiang and Beihui, who were displaced to avoid persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Aiqiang had strong technical skills. A practitioner once commented that it was difficult to find a practitioner with such comprehensive technical skills in China, but it was even more difficult to find one who could also let go of life and death. Aiqiang had both attributes.

Throughout years of persecution, Aiqiang never compromised with the CCP. Moreover, he was an exceptionally good person. He was single, and dedicated himself entirely to cultivation during Fa-rectification. He studied and memorized the Fa, practiced the exercises, and sent righteous thoughts every day. He also frequently made and distributed Dafa information materials himself, meticulously distributing them to almost all the high-rise buildings in his area that others dared not go to.

We noticed that Aiqiang had a shortcoming, which was that his hand often drooped to the side when sending righteous thoughts. We frequently reminded him about this, but our words had little effect. The police subsequently seized Aiqiang for distributing truth-clarification materials with other practitioners, and he was released from a detention center after a seven-day hunger strike. Upon returning home, he discovered that the other practitioners who were detained with him had not been released. After resting for only a few days, he went out to participate in the efforts to rescue these practitioners.

More than a year later, Aiqiang was seized again while distributing truth-clarification materials with other practitioners. He was tortured in the detention center, and went on a hunger strike for more than six months. He died shortly after bring transferred to a prison. After hearing the news of his death, I felt very sad. I thought of him every time I sat down to have a meal. I just didn’t understand why someone with such strong righteous thoughts would pass away.

During the COVID pandemic, practitioner Beihui went door-to-door in the countryside distributing truth-clarification materials with other practitioners. One day, I heard from another practitioner who was working with him, that while they were distributing materials on a motorcycle, they were chased by a police car for a long distance. They managed to escape by riding the motorcycle through alleys, where the police car couldn’t get through. Upon hearing this, I immediately thought of practitioner Aiqiang, who was also arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials and tortured to death. My affection for fellow practitioners was stirred. I immediately called Beihui, telling him to be careful and not to get into any more trouble.

I was worried and saddened, unable to accept that another practitioner might be in danger. But as a Dafa disciple, I knew that distributing truth-clarification materials was the right thing to do. I couldn’t stop them, but I was genuinely worried.

Master saw my thoughts and gave me a hint that night in a dream. I saw a large ship, on which five people were standing side by side on the deck. All of them were wearing diving suits and carrying oxygen tanks, and were listening to their supervisor, preparing to dive into the sea to work. I then saw that one of the men had a serious problem in his brain. More than half of his brain was black, which might cause his death any day. The supervisor gave an order, and they all went into the sea. After a while, those who had completed their work returned to the ship. But they noticed that one person was missing. So two of them went back into the sea to rescue the man. They discovered that he was no longer breathing.

I woke up as soon as I saw this scene. I immediately understood that Master showed me this to let me understand a principle. This man didn’t die from working in the sea. The diving was just a facade. In reality, he already had serious health issues, and once they manifested, it would be fatal wherever he was. This man was like practitioner Aiqiang, who appeared to have died from the persecution. In reality, he had a loophole in certain aspects of his cultivation, which was taken advantage of by the old forces and led to his death. However, his attachment was deeply hidden, and no one else noticed. I now realized that if one has no loopholes, one won’t encounter tribulations.

I put aside my worries about Beihui and silently sent righteous thoughts for him every day. I focused on clearing away all evil beings and factors that persecute Dafa practitioners and hinder the possibility of salvation for people wherever Beihui goes. As a result, Beihui, working with other practitioners, distributed truth-clarification materials door-to-door in all the villages nearby. Although he had several close calls, he returned home safely each time.

Through this dream, I now have a better understanding of why Master often said that we should unconditionally look inward and cultivate ourselves.
