(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2011. I would like to report to Master and share with everyone my experience using the law to validate the Fa in the past two years.
I had a huge conflict with a family member who practices Falun Dafa, and I resented her. After we had a sincere sharing about our differences I let go of my bitterness. I realized that I should pay attention to doing the three things instead of focusing on other people’s issues.
We clarify the truth about the persecution to people every day, and we’re not focused on their character or behavior. Yet we are affected by our family members’ shortcomings because they are our relatives. I feel this is related to selfishness, and emotion and we should eliminate it. I relaxed after I recognized this. I dreamed I was sliding down a mountain top. I didn’t want to slide down but I couldn’t pull myself up. That family member pulled me up.
Soon afterward, she was arrested.
What Is There to Be Afraid Of?
Before she was arrested, I helped rescue other practitioners. I read articles written by practitioners on resisting the persecution through exposing the perpetrators’ actions. I agreed with this approach, but her family was afraid to do this.
Fear was the main obstacle. I was afraid that if I submitted a complaint I would be persecuted and face retaliation. What to do? I opened Zhuan Falun and read:
“Because his nature had not changed, he transformed himself into a big snake to make trouble for me. I thought that he had gone too far, so I caught him in my hand. I used a very powerful gong called “the dissolving gong” to dissolve his lower body and turn it into water. His upper body ran back home.” (Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)
I realized Master asked me to eliminate the demon.
With Master’s Fa to guide me, my determination was stronger. I calmed down and analyzed the source of my fear. What was there to be afraid of? It must be that I thought the other party was strong and I was weak—I thought the other party would take strong measures against me, yet I was powerless. Who is the other party? It is the old forces, it is humans. Who am I then? I have Master, and I’m a practitioner. Then why am I afraid of them? They should be scared of me! I finally overcame my fear.
With the assistance of practitioners on a forum who are lawyers by profession, I began to write a complaint and submitted it at the stage when the police station was carrying out investigations. In the beginning, I lodged a petition and complaint as a non practitioner in the family. Later, I applied for family friends defense counsel and slowly submitted various documents using this identity.
There are reference materials on the justice forum for relatives, and friends who use the law to oppose the persecution and the contents are very comprehensive. It provides information on how family members can write different legal documents at various stages to the public security bureau, procuratorate and court after the practitioner is arrested. There are templates and all I needed to do was fill in specific details.
After writing the complaint, I followed the suggestions in the document and wrote what was needed at every stage. When I got stuck, I asked practitioners on the forum. There are many documents one can submit at every stage. I picked the main and important ones. Thus, I wrote more and more documents, from several pages in the beginning to a thick stack later on. They became a package of materials to clarify the truth from many angles.
Turning Things Around
As I became more involved in the project, I gained a clearer understanding of the nature of this persecution. The entire procedure is illegal, the charges are illegal, the process is illegal, many procedures at the procuratorate review and prosecution stage as well as court trial are also illegal, such as ransacking houses without a legal cause of action, police officers not wearing uniforms, not showing police ID and documents, preventing lawyers from reading papers, no cross examination at trials, not informing defense counsel, or family members of the trials, etc.
Exposing the illegality of the process through various legal documents, holding those responsible accountable is the core of this project. Complaints, legal opinion, statement of opinion, application of acquisition of evidence of innocence, application for recusal, application for withdrawal of the case, etc... is exposing the illegality of the entire process through various forms and focus. Every document states the different illegality, and clarifies the truth about the persecution. I progressively--from facts, law, reason, Chinese culture and other angles--discussed the cause and effect of the persecution of Falun Gong, the difference in the attitudes towards Falun Gong in China and overseas, why it is reasonable and legal to ask people to quit the CCP so that they realize the illegality of this persecution and how evil the CCP is.
I use different legal documents to explain the truth from different perspectives and how Falun Gong benefits people and China. At the same time, through these documents, I explained further the harm this persecution has done to humanity and society and exposed the deeper historic causes behind the persecution.
In the process, my mind became clearer. I felt negative substances were being removed and the mindset that I’m the victim of the persecution, and that I’m powerless gradually diminished. From being persecuted but incapable of doing anything while the evil is unreasonable, and being right but not allowed to say it, such a passive role—I turned into someone who is in control, rational, strong and has faith that evil will not prevail over justice.
Inspired by an article I read on Minghui.org, I realized we are the master of the cosmos, we should use the wisdom and abilities from the Fa to save sentient beings in the public security, the procuratorate, and the legal system who are misled by lies during this persecution.
After I finished submitting legal documents online, I began to mail papers on a large scale. The first time I posted a legal document, I felt a little uneasy. After paying the postage fees, through my celestial eye, I saw two rays of light shot straight into the distance. I understood at once: due to the different dimensions, although the paperwork has not been delivered in this dimension, it had already eliminated the evil in the other dimension. Our legal document has energy, is a magical tool, is a ray of light destroying the evil in another dimension.
Master let me see this to encourage me. I knew I did the right thing.
I later mailed documents to well known people in the local area, province and other provinces—I was asking kind people to pay attention to the case and lend a helping hand. I also hoped to let them know about the persecution taking place around them so they could uphold justice. Of course, it may appear we are asking for help, but in reality, we are saving them.
My righteous thoughts became stronger in the process. I often felt myself standing tall and upright, surrounded by energy which covered the cosmos. By then, my mentality was far from the initial state when I wondered if I should submit a complaint and I was afraid of being retaliated against. Such a complete change is the result of practicing cultivation solidly and doing the three things well. Thanks to Master’s infinite grace, holding my hand and guiding me step by step!
Seeing Results
My family member was released a few months later after our persistent efforts began. A prosecutor shouted at me when I called her on the phone: “Falun Gong hands out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party they are against the Party! The contents in your books are all against the Party!” The family member told me after she returned home, before she was released, the prosecutor said to her: “The facts are not clear in your case, there is insufficient evidence. You should have been acquitted but if we let you go, we will face investigations that will result in state compensation. Therefore we sentence you to the minimum prison terms of a few months.” This was a far cry from her initial attitude.
When I first called the main judge, he said, “You dare to call me regarding a Falun Gong case?!” Later on, he said to me sincerely, “You should be a lawyer.” I can write many things about what I went through during this period of time. Looking back, I did not know what the path ahead would be, I only had a bit of conviction supporting me, countless days and nights, I went back and forth asking practitioners questions on the justice forum, revising legal documents, rectifying the tiniest, serious wrong understanding that was human notion. In the process, unexpectedly, I did not become discouraged or give up. It truly is a miracle; only a feat Dafa can create.
Although my family member returned home, many practitioners who were arrested with her did not. Therefore I did not stop seeking legal accountability. I kept pursuing those responsible using legal documents. Practitioners who insisted they did not commit a crime were soon released after being sentenced to a short prison term.
After they came home the practitioners said, “The evil appeared strong in the beginning as if the sky was about to fall. Later on, things just ended without a resolution.” We knew that in fact through practitioners’ righteous thoughts and actions, our efforts to pursue accountability, and working together inside prison walls and outside, the evil in other dimensions was disintegrated.
Chief Justice Quits the CCP
Although practitioners came home one after another, I thought I should continue to submit complaints because the persecution is still taking place and criminal cases in the name of Falun Gong will poison the minds of people as long as they exist. I received a response. A judge contacted me and said his superiors asked them to resolve the problem. I could tell he was under a lot of pressure. He asked me to come to court to explain my appeal. I thought this was a great opportunity—something I never thought would happen.
When practitioners heard I was going to court, some were worried. I had strong righteous thoughts at first and I wasn’t worried. Seeing practitioners’ concerns, negative thoughts appeared in my mind. At the arranged time, on my way to the court, I thought of the entire process. I still felt I should go. In the end, I thought: “Even if it is mountains of knives and a sea of fire, I will go today! I leave everything to Master. Since the judge contacted me, I will go and clarify the truth.”
The judge was very polite because he was under pressure from his superiors. We also had a long phone conversation prior to our meeting. He said he respected my professionalism and knowledge of the law. Right from the start, the atmosphere was peaceful. The judge conducted a “legal explanation” based on my rights in the case and complaint materials stating many illegalities according to procedure.
Using my knowledge gained from the justice forum, I explained why the entire process was illegal. He listened and when he had doubts, I explained using my knowledge of the law. In the end, I said to him: “This case is a wrongful conviction right from the beginning. You are using the law wrong or in other words, using the wrong law, this is fundamentally against the law.” I could tell he was losing his confidence.
I continued: “But I know behind this case is the 610 Office, your procuratorate head told me before. Therefore perhaps you aren’t in control of the results of the judgment, but you signed it. Under the current system is life long accountability for the quality of the cases handled, they make the decision, but you sign it. When investigations are conducted one day, no one will take responsibility for what you signed. Do you really think you should do this?”
He lowered his head and thought about it silently. I felt the time was right and said to him: “I really want to say this to you. We have no personal enmity and if not for this case, under a different situation, maybe we would be friends. Therefore, although you wrongly convicted my family member, I don’t resent you, I know you had no choice. But I really want to tell you this: You should stop taking on Falun Gong cases in the future!”
He was a little taken aback. He said with embarrassment, “I don’t make the decision in this matter. It is assigned to me, I have to take it.” I said, “I suggest you learn from judges in southern China. There is a veteran chief justice in the southern area, he said to his boss while handling a Falun Gong case: If you ask me to try Falun Gong cases, I will say they are innocent. Whoever thinks they are guilty, they can go and try the case. In the end, the 610 Office, the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, including their superiors, no one took it on and the case was closed without any resolution. In the history of the CCP, there are many such incidents. After this is over, who will be responsible for wrong orders that were made? The one who carried out the orders who will be held responsible! Don’t you think you should seriously think about this for yourself and for your family? I sincerely say this for your own good. I hope you think over things carefully.”
I felt I was telling him all this from the bottom of my heart, for the good of this life. I felt we were exchanging ideas sincerely and I felt his kindness, and rationality. From his expression, I could tell he was truly thinking about it. We ended our meeting in a harmonious atmosphere.
Later on, this judge helped me contact the chief justice and soon after, I met him. Before our meeting, the chief justice read the legal documents I previously submitted. He said, “You have reached the standard for a postgraduate.” I said, “I consider myself an amateur but I did put in a lot of effort so that I can hold these conversations with you one day. I did do a lot of preparation from the perspective of the law so that I can share understandings with professionals like you.”
He said, “I think you are not just concerned about your case.” I was surprised by his good enlightenment quality and said, “There’s all kinds of chaos in society now, and constant disasters—it never reached such a serious situation in human history. Humanity on the whole is in a crisis—particularly the COVID pandemic. Only when humans improve their moral standards can this matter be resolved and Falun Gong is doing this.”
I continued, “You are following the CCP leaders in convicting cases. It appears you have done nothing wrong but if orders from above are wrong, and illegal, aren’t you going against the law yourself by following these orders?”
We chatted a lot that day. I won’t go into detail. Finally, this chief justice agreed to quit the CCP and said to me he will try to drag out Falun Gong cases if he has to handle them in future and avoid sending them to trial if he can. I am truly happy for the choice the judge and chief justice made!
Conclusion
Over a decade of practicing cultivation, from an ordinary youth who knew nothing about the world, I’m now a Falun Dafa practitioner who acts according to Master’s Fa teachings. I turned into a being who takes a proactive role in saving beings. The Fa of the universe is empowering me, it is Master who looks after and protects me at every step.
This is an extraordinary, hard process. Validating the Fa using the law is a joint effort between practitioners on the justice forum and those around me. It is also a process of solid cultivation, changing notions, and validating the Fa.
Sentient beings come from high levels and have deep foundations. Their conscience, kind thoughts, wisdom, and reason are covered by dust. All we have to do is use all kinds of ways to remove that dust and let them see light and future! Thank you Master!
