Toronto, Canada: Rally Condemns the Persecution of Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners and democracy advocates held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto on September 28, 2025. They condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) and called for help to stop the CCP’s transnational repression in Canada.

In addressing the rally, practitioner representative Li Qiang condemned the CCP’s transnational repression of Falun Gong practitioners in Canada and around the world. He said this includes exploiting Chinese communities to attack and insult Falun Gong practitioners, infiltrating overseas media to smear Falun Gong and Shen Yun Performing Arts, dispatching spies to monitor and threaten practitioners and their families, and disrupting Shen Yun performances by threatening theaters and vandalizing Shen Yun buses.

Mr. Li said, “The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and Shen Yun Performing Arts, and its despicable tactics, are a threat to the entire world and a violation of civilized society.” He expressed his hope that those involved in the CCP’s transnational repression would abandon their evil ways and cease being exploited by the CCP. He also called on the Canadian government to thoroughly investigate and shut down all illegal CCP activities in Canada and urged Canadians to see through the CCP’s lies and help to protect freedom and human rights.

Sheng Xue, Vice Chairperson of the Global Alliance for Democracy and Justice, spoke at the rally.

Sheng Xue of the Global Alliance for Democracy and Justice said at the rally that, of all the CCP’s campaigns, Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted the longest and suffered the most deaths. “The CCP fears Falun Gong and cannot tolerate the spread of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They imprison Falun Gong practitioners in China and are using the most evil methods in human history, including live organ harvesting, against them.”

She said the CCP is afraid of Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as well as the Shen Yun Performing Arts Company, which promotes traditional Chinese culture. She said, “They once even used my name and email address to send a bomb threat to intimidate Shen Yun from performing.”

Ms. Sheng said that ending the CCP’s tyranny is a battle between good and evil and involves reconstructing faith and culture, which terrifies the CCP. She said the CCP’s smear campaigns and disruptions of Shen Yun performances abroad stem from its inability to tolerate Shen Yun’s display of traditional Chinese culture before the communists usurped power.

Jiang Jiaji, a member of the China Democratic Front, spoke at the rally.

Jiang Jiaji of the China Democratic Front said at the rally that the CCP has massacred millions of religious believers, scholars, and those who refuse to submit to the regime.

He said, “For 26 years, since 1999, the CCP regime has not only tortured, persecuted, and arrested Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale, but we also know, based on irrefutable evidence, that the regime has also been harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale in Chinese prisons.

“We absolutely do not condone these crimes, nor can we remain silent. Stop the live organ harvesting! Release all Falun Gong practitioners!”

Liu Yan, director of the China Democratic Party Canada Committee, addressed the rally.

Speaking at the rally, Liu Yan of the Canadian Committee of the China Democratic Party said, “We have the right to express our views freely; we have the right to pursue our belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance; we have the right to criticize dictatorship; we have the right to oppose the Chinese Communist Party; we have the right to enjoy freedom, democracy, and the dignity of being human.” He called on all sectors of society to unite to oppose the CCP’s infiltration, oppose transnational repression, and defend freedom.

Practitioner Calls to End the Persecution

Bogdan spoke at the rally and described how practicing Falun Gong helped him quit his drug addiction and find a new life, “The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance completely changed my life. Without Falun Dafa, I might still be a degenerate drug addict and thief, wasting my life. But I’ve been drug-free for five years, have a full-time job, and I reunited with my family.

“For the past 26 years, Falun Gong practitioners in China have faced torture, forced labor, imprisonment, and even death.” He also mentioned the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting to sustain China’s organ transplant industry. He said that the CCP’s smear campaign against Falun Gong has caused the public to turn a blind eye and remain silent about the persecution and genocide.

Bogdan called on all sectors of Canadian society not to believe the CCP’s lies and propaganda, but to stand with Falun Dafa and other persecuted groups to end the CCP’s persecution.
