Obtaining a New Lease on Life After Cultivating in Dafa and Surviving an Accident Unscathed

(Minghui.org) I was fortunate to encounter Falun Dafa when I was in my 40s in 1996. I have now been cultivating for 29 years and am in my 70s. I’m grateful to Master for teaching me how to be a good person, how to differentiate righteousness from evil, and for transforming me from a useless person plagued with illnesses to a good person who is physically agile and healthy. I’d like to share some of the miraculous encounters from when I first started to practice Falun Dafa.

All My Illnesses Healed

Before cultivating in Dafa, I had multiple health problems. Although I was only in my 40s at that time, I didn’t look like a normal person, and I was partially paralyzed. My right arm and leg could not be lifted, and my right shoulder felt very heavy. My knee caps were so painful it made it even harder to walk. My right ear could not hear clearly, and I had migraines on the right side of my head. The division between the left and right sides of my body was obvious. My left side kept sweating profusely, and my left eye would not open. My right side was dry and did not sweat at all. The doctor said that this was caused by neurological disorders, and it was more difficult to treat than Meniere’s syndrome.

Apart from this, I also suffered from serious motion sickness, complications from my confinement, as well as stomach problems and back pain. Every morning, I felt very uncomfortable from the moment I woke up. My throat always felt like I was short of breath. I had a sallow face and loose skin. My eyes had dark circles, my lips were purple, and my cheeks were sunken. I was emaciated and basically could not do any heavy labor. I furrowed my eyebrows every day, and it made me look like I would die at any time. I had no choice but to keep visiting hospitals, doctors, and witches. I looked for remedies and tried qigong too, but none of it helped.

However, one month after I began practicing Falun Dafa, all my illnesses disappeared and I recovered without realizing it. My arms and legs could be lifted, I could walk normally, and I was full of unlimited energy.

Since I was young, I had the thought of wanting to cultivate. I liked to read stories about immortals. So when I first encountered Dafa, I was elated. No words can describe my feelings when I finally found the Fa that teaches people to cultivate. I finally found it. That was in 1996. One day, I saw someone wearing a Falun emblem badge, which looked especially beautiful. I asked, “What is that?” She replied, “I am practicing Falun Dafa, and this is a Falun badge. This practice is exceptionally good.” I said, “In that case, I also want to practice it.”

The practitioner briefly introduced the five sets of exercises to me and said that she would bring a book for me to read. That day, after reaching home, I started doing the exercise movements on my bed, placing my legs in the full lotus position and conjoining my hands. After doing that, my celestial eye opened, and the image that I saw was three-dimensional. It was very clear. However, once I opened my eyes, the image disappeared. I was really excited and looked forward to receiving the book.

The next day, I obtained the precious book Zhuan Falun. That night, I did not sleep. I just kept reading the book and finished reading it within a day. When I had just started practicing, I was exceptionally happy and loved to do the exercises. I was able to get into a tranquil state the moment I started meditating. After entering a tranquil state, I would be able to see all sorts of scenes and things like dragons and phoenixes. I also saw Master’s law body with blue curly hair, just like the hair of a Tathagata Buddha.

I didn’t feel tired at all. Every morning, I would go to the practice site to do the exercises at 3 a.m. or 4 a.m.. There were many people in my family, so I needed to do the laundry, prepare meals, clean the house, and manage our business. At night, after finishing all the chores, I would study Zhuan Falun. I saw that the black characters in the book flipped over to reveal red characters.

Surviving a Car Accident Unscathed

It was around 1998 when I was involved in a car accident. I was on my way to a practitioner’s house, riding a bicycle out from an alley near home, when a tricycle came and I rolled beneath the vehicle. The driver was shocked and quickly got off his tricycle. He was quivering as he asked, “Are you okay? Let’s get you to the hospital.” I got up and said, “I am alright, no need to go to the hospital. I practice Falun Dafa, and I have my Master’s protection. There is no problem, you don’t have to worry, and you don’t need to compensate me.” I also said, “Just help me get my bicycle out and repair it.” The bicycle handle was crooked, and the wheel and fender were rolled up. He helped me to straighten the handle and fender, and the bicycle was okay to ride. I got up and was able to walk, so I got onto the bicycle and rode to a practitioner’s house to study the Fa.

After studying the Fa, the area that had been bleeding was covered by a protective layer. The practitioner said, “Do you know how much karma you got rid of? This is equivalent to repaying a life!”

I recall that the day after the accident, my legs were black and purple. My husband was not a practitioner and scolded me for being foolish and for not even getting a contact number from the driver in case anything happened. He said that a person in his factory had been knocked down by a car and his collision was less serious than mine, but he was hospitalized and his blood clots did not go away, so he had to have surgery. I said, “There is no problem with me. If there is, I cannot look for the driver as this is my own karma.” I told him, “I have Master watching over me so there won’t be any problem. Don’t be scared. If you don’t believe, just watch.” After that, I did the exercises and studied the Fa every day, and did the household chores like normal without missing any work. The areas with blood clots recovered after around 10 days.

A relative of my mother-in-law was also hit by a car around the same time as me. In fact, her collision was not as serious as mine. She did not let the driver go. She stopped him from leaving and asked him for 4,000 yuan (USD$560) compensation. In the end, she lay in bed for two months, while I recovered in around 10 days. I told my relatives and friends, “See how extraordinary Dafa is?” They all said it was really amazing.

Another time, my neighbor’s huge dog bit me, and I bled. The dog’s owner asked me to get a vaccine. I replied, “There’s no problem. I cultivate Dafa.” I did not get the vaccine, nor did I ask for any compensation. The wound healed, and there was no problem at all. My neighbor was very touched and said, “People who cultivate Dafa are really good. If this happened to someone else, things would be different. I may have even had to spend a few thousand yuan.”

Before I obtained the Fa, I was only in my early forties, but I was plagued by illnesses, and I looked very haggard. I had just reached middle age, but I was waiting for my death. However, I obtained the Fa. All I thought of was that I was so lucky to be able to learn Dafa. If everyone on earth knew that Dafa is good, there would be so many people who would benefit from it! That would bring so much bliss to society! When I first started practicing, there was no Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. Later, in 1999, I witnessed the April 25 peaceful petition and the CCP’s mass arrests on July 20. After that, I was illegally detained because I said, “Falun Dafa is Good.” The persecution has been so brutal. However, cultivation is sacred. Dafa’s benevolence and greatness were already rooted in my heart. Through these years, Dafa has also tempered me.

I am already in my seventies now, but I am radiant, light, and walk with energy. All these years, I have not taken any medication, and I am no longer a timid person who is afraid of problems. I am able to face problems and settle them in a calm manner. Cultivators are compassionate. In my large family, every time there are major festivals, my relatives and friends all like to come to my house and have a meal. My children support my cultivation, and they have all received blissful rewards.

Recalling the past 29 years of cultivation, no words can express my gratitude. Master has pulled us out of hell, cleansed us, and brought us on a path of returning to our true self. Master has sacrificed so much and suffered for us. Only through diligently cultivating and putting in even more effort to do the three things well can we repay our gratitude toward Master!
