(Minghui.org) Yesterday, I read an exclusive media report about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) attempting to exploit the U.S. legal system to criminalize Falun Dafa and thereby divert attention from its own human rights crime—the persecution of Falun Dafa for a quarter of a century. I have two key takeaways from this report to share with fellow practitioners.

During the promotion of Shen Yun shows, Dafa practitioners must strictly adhere to the rules set by Shen Yun. The Shen Yun video footage must not be shared with anyone outside the authorized parties and must never be altered.

According to the report, the CCP’s recent campaign to persecute Falun Dafa and attack Shen Yun originated from an incident involving the CCP’s top leader, Xi Jinping. Someone reportedly brought a Shen Yun video to China and showed it to a person close to Xi. This individual appreciated the performance and later shared it with Xi.

However, portions of the performance depicting the persecution of Falun Dafa were edited from the video. So Xi didn’t know that Falun Dafa practitioners had produced the show. He liked the performance and instructed officials in the Chinese Ministry of Culture to draw inspiration from the video for their productions. Later, Xi was informed that the show was the work of Falun Dafa practitioners and contained content critical of the CCP. Angered, Xi reprimanded the officials for their poor efforts at showcasing Chinese culture, especially given the Ministry’s ample state funding.

This incident fueled resentment toward Shen Yun within CCP circles. As the story spread, some officials saw an opportunity to gain favor with Xi by criticizing Shen Yun and intensifying the persecution of Falun Dafa.

The old forces have always exploited practitioners’ shortcomings to intensify their persecution of Dafa. In this case, some practitioners’ conduct that was not in line with the Fa may have provided loopholes for the old forces to exploit.

First of all, regarding the distribution of Shen Yun materials, practitioners in China have been prohibited from handing out Shen Yun DVDs since the performing arts company began. Furthermore, outside of China, Shen Yun video footage must not be shared or posted online.

Secondly, altering Shen Yun materials is prohibited. Shen Yun’s official videos and promotional materials are designed to save people. The footage Xi saw was likely provided by practitioners. However, without the content exposing the CCP’s persecution, it was no longer an authentic Shen Yun production. Any alterations to the footage compromise the show’s effectiveness in awakening people and eliminating evil.

Thirdly, practitioners must clearly understand our mission: to save people by exposing the CCP’s persecution and its true nature and to not engage in a political movement to overthrow the CCP. In this sense, Dafa practitioners are fundamentally different from all other groups. This distinction must always be kept in mind.

Over the past two decades, during the CCP’s persecution, Dafa practitioners have consistently helped people distinguish the CCP from the country of China and the Chinese people, saving countless individuals in the process. However, in the new wave of persecution, top CCP officials have extended the persecution of Falun Dafa beyond China and implemented the goal of eradicating Falun Dafa globally. They are attempting to leverage the U.S. legal system to criminalize Falun Dafa and justify their 25-year-long persecution of its adherents.

Could the current situation reflect a lack of clarity among some practitioners about our responsibilities? For a while, discussions about the new president taking down the CCP have been prevalent in the media. However, there seems to have been insufficient focus on helping people around the world recognize the true nature of communism. This lack of emphasis may have contributed to the current challenging situation.

This is my understanding. Please point out anything that is not in line with the Fa.
