(Minghui.org) While Shen Yun, Fei Tian, and Master are going through tribulations in the U.S., many practitioners in China often wonder what they can do to help. It seems like we can only send righteous thoughts because we have no other options to help with the situation, but that is not how I feel. A story from two decades ago that happened in a forced labor camp occurred to me, and that is how I know that sending forth righteous thoughts isn’t our last resort because we are at our wits end; it is the divine power of Buddha Fa at work.
The evil in other dimensions cannot harm Dafa, but it is our duty as practitioners to fulfill our vows to safeguard Dafa. The root of the communist evil spirit is still in China, and the practitioners there must pay more attention to eradicate it with their righteous thoughts.
Twenty-two years ago I was taken to a detention center because I refused to renounce Falun Dafa. A month later another practitioner was put there, and she told me about sending righteous thoughts and the verses. She was released a few days later, and it seemed to me that Master had sent her there to tell me to face the evil with righteous thoughts.
A week later I was transferred to a forced labor camp, and faced even worse persecution. One day I told a practitioner about sending righteous thoughts and after reciting the verses, she said, “It feels like an electric current just went through me. The power of the verses is incredible.” We told more practitioners in the camp about it, and we began to send righteous thoughts regularly.
The camp had a group of so-called “educators” who were former practitioners that had renounced their faith after being brainwashed. Their job was to help the guards persecute steadfast practitioners. The head of the group was a young woman named Jia. Her husband and mother were also once practitioners. After the persecution started, the three quit the practice, and praised and helped the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in their persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Jia often slandered Master and Dafa in public using loud speakers.
One morning practitioners sent out righteous thoughts with the intent to stop the poisoning of the guards and inmates with CCP propaganda slandering Dafa. That afternoon Jia appeared with a bloody eye. She had been involved in an accident in the kitchen where she was hit in the face. She never slandered Dafa with a speaker in public after that.
A few days later the camp director visited, and the guards had the inmates stand outside of their cells and shout out their numbers. I refused to do so, and Jia was enraged. As she was about to take some kind of action to retaliate, she passed out. From then on, she stopped the reading of books that defame Falun Dafa during “study time.” She’d ask a practitioner if what she planned to read that day was appropriate or not.
As we continued to send righteous thoughts, all twenty educators made positive changes. Some resumed practicing, and some helped to expose the persecution to other inmates and guards to make up for their mistakes.
Over the years the practitioners in China began to slack off or became numb to the situation, as the persecution seemed to be less severe. Sending righteous thoughts evolved into more of a routine task. We must see this as a loophole and pick up our strong righteous thoughts again. Meanwhile we should look within for our attachments, which could make us commit crimes against Dafa and fail in our cultivation efforts.
Master said,
“I hope that the Dafa disciples will, by way of godly righteous thoughts, walk the last leg of their journey well.” (“Disintegrate Completely All the Meddling Deities in the Three Realms that Have a Hand in Interfering With Fa-Rectification,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
In that very moment, when we are experiencing a Fa tribulation, how Dafa disciples react will be documented in the history of the universe. Let's remind each other to work together and safeguard the Fa with our strong righteous thoughts, and be genuine practitioners in the last moments of the war between good and evil.
