(Minghui.org) The 2024 Minghui Winter Camp was held in Horn-Bad Meinberg, Germany from December 24, 2024 to January 4, 2025. The children and their parents had a good time while they studied and applied the principles of Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa is a meditation practice that teaches Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Among the 69 attendees, 35 were children from Germany, France, and the Slovak Republic. They studied the Falun Dafa teachings, did the exercises, and shared how they improved through following Falun Dafa principles.

The children learned new talents through participating in an orchestra, chorus, martial arts classes and stage performances. As they were preparing for the recital on the last day of the camp, they helped one another and learned how to work as a team. They also learned to paint, and make origami lotus flowers.

While the children prepared and rehearsed their performances for the recital, the parents went outside to distribute flyers and posters and clarified the truth of Falun Dafa to nearby store owners. The children and their parents visited the neighbors and invited them to watch the recital.

Study and Exercise Together

Each morning everyone read Zhuan Falun Falun Dafa’s main book. The participants were divided into adult and children groups, and among each group, there were different language sub-groups: English, Germany, French, Russian, Vietnamese, and Chinese.

After they read, the children did the exercises together, and their parents helped correct their movements. The children exercised with the shortened instructional version of the exercise music. They encouraged one another to join the adults’ exercise session which was held earlier. The older children got up early on their own, woke up the younger children, and they joined the adults. The children made progress since last year, when they needed a push from their parents.

Than Viet, 12, joined the adults’ exercise sessions twice during the camp. “It was quite difficult for me to get up that early. I stayed in a room with three other boys, Demian, Michael, and Leo, who were also 12 years old. We decided to exercise with the adults. The exercises were easy, except for the second one. Demian and Leo joined the adults three times. Dao, 14 years old, encouraged us to do so, and came to wake us up in the morning,” he said.

Celebrating New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, everyone decorated the lobby and prepared snacks and beverages to celebrate the New Year. The children performed dances and helped set up the bonfire outside. The children and their parents sat around the bonfire while they chatted and baked bread. The adults arranged two firework shows that night.

A group of young adults, who have practiced Falun Dafa since they were little, arranged the New Year’s Eve event on their own, from music, games, to food. It was challenging for them, and taught them the importance of coordination.

One mother was glad to see everyone celebrating together and said, “It’s a pure environment. We had so much fun, and without any alcohol.”

New Year’s Day: Outings, Exercise and Martial Arts Demonstrations, and Greetings to Master

Everyone headed to the Externsteine Rocks on the New Year’s Day. They demonstrated the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises and handed out flyers and their handmade paper lotus flowers to tourists. The children performed martial arts, and all the camp participants took a photo and video to wish Master Li Hongzhi a happy New Year. The weather was cold, so while the adults drank tea to stay warm, the children held a treasure hunt.

The camp attendees wished Master Li Hongzhi a Happy New Year.

Children Showcase Their Talents

The recital was the highlight of Minghui Winter Camp for the children to showcase what they learned in the past six days. Through exercise demonstration, martial arts, a Han Dynasty fashion show, small orchestra performance, musical instrument solo, and chorus, the children introduced Falun Dafa and traditional Chinese culture.

Children demonstrated the exercises and sang in a chorus during the recital.

Parents and Children Appreciate the Minghui Camp

Celine, 13, thought the camp was amazing, “I didn’t have to remind myself that it was time to do the exercises. I am a part of a group, which is quite different compared to when I’m in school. I believe my cultivation improved because studying the teachings with others makes a difference.”

Erin, 15, said that she had slacked off in her cultivation, “So, when I learned a Minghui Winter Camp would be held during the semester break, I knew that I had to go, because it would bring cultivation back to my life. I hope to stay this diligent even after the camp ends.”

Laura, 14, said she felt Master arranged the camp so that she could improve herself and her music skills. “A teacher helped me with the violin, and I made significant progress. I was able to help two French children, 8-year-old Julian and 10-year-old Lisa, with their violins.”

Sibylle, 56, learned about Falun Dafa because of her son, “When my child was little, he told me that he wanted to learn trombone, and I went to the Tian Guo Marching Band training with him. I later began practicing Falun Dafa and learned about the purpose of the Band. I never thought that I would play the drums. I believe that I can pass the test this year and be qualified to play in the band.”
