(Minghui.org) It was recently learned that a resident of Dong’e County, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on October 20, 2023 to serve time for exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of her faith, Falun Gong.

Ms. Liang Yunju, in her 60s, was arrested on April 15, 2023, while talking to shoppers about Falun Gong at a local supermarket. The arresting officers from the Echeng Police Station took her to a detention center located in Liangshui Town, Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City.

Ms. Liang’s family learned in late August 2023 that she had been sentenced to two years by the Yanggu County Court in Liaocheng City. The details of her indictment, trial, and sentencing remain to be investigated.

This is not the first time that Ms. Liang has been targeted for her faith in Falun Gong. Officers Xu Mingku and Guo Zongquan from the Dong’e County Domestic Security Division, as well as officer Xie Shaoan from the local police station, raided her home on May 5, 2008. They returned the next day to arrest her. On May 8 and 9 of that year, the police raided her home two more times. Her family noted that 600 yuan in cash that was in their home was missing after the police raid.

Ms. Liang was later given one and a half years at the Jinan Women’s Labor Camp.

The Liuji Police Station officers showed up at Ms. Liang’s home in three cruisers on October 17, 2015. She was arrested and detained for an unknown amount of time.
