(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

8. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhong Bo and Ms. Lu Wenmei Detained
9. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuping Detained
10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fan Xiufang’s Home Ransacked
1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Wang Jian in Critical Condition
Wang Jian (gender unknown) has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution since he or she was arrested on February 23, 2024. Wang did not cooperate with the authorities’ demands in the hospital and is currently in critical condition.
2. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Hankui Taken to Sihui Prison
Mr. Xie Hankui was admitted to Sihui Prison on February 28, 2024.
On the morning of February 24, 2023, Mr. Xie was arrested by Meijiang District Police Department officers and his home was ransacked. He was released that day. On the afternoon of February 26, Mr. Xie was arrested again and put under criminal detention. His employer stopped paying his salary. On March 13, Mr. Xie was officially placed under arrest. On the morning of July 13, Mr. Xie was tried by the Meixian District Court and sentenced to two and a half years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan. Mr. Xia appealed. The Meizhou Intermediate Court denied his appeal and upheld the original verdict.
3. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. An Shuyun Admitted to Prison
Ms. An Shuyun was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials in mid-July 2023. She was sentenced to two years in prison and admitted to Changchun Women’s Prison on March 20, 2024.
4. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yubo Faces Trial
Ms. Liu Yubo from Xingcheng City was notified by the Lianshan District Court that she would be tried at 9 a.m. on April 1, 2024, in the Huludao City Detention Center.
Ms. Liu was arrested by Domestic Security officers on December 28, 2023. She was detained, and charges were brought against her. She had a physical exam in Xingcheng Hospital that indicated she had high blood pressure and high blood sugar. She suffered from severe myocardial ischemia so the detention center refused to admit her. The officers handling the case took her to Huludao City Second People’s Hospital for another round of exams, after which she was taken directly to the detention center.
The Lianshan District Court initially notified her that the trial was scheduled on March 15. However, she developed heart issues and high blood pressure and was unable to walk. The trial was changed to 9 a.m. on April 1, 2024.
5. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Wanning Admitted to Detention Center
Mr. Li Wanning was arrested by people in the Hujiachi area on March 26, 2024. He was taken to Shenzhou City Detention Center. Further information is pending.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ye Xiaofen Held in Brainwashing Center for 150 Days
Ms. Ye Xiaofen, who was arrested by officers from the Wuhan Domestic Security Division, returned home on March 21. She had been held in the Caidian District Brainwashing Center for 150 days.
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Deli Held in Detention Center
Mr. Li Deli from Jiaozhou City was coaxed into going to the Jiulong Police Station on November 2, 2023. He is now being held in Jiaozhou Detention Center.
8. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhong Bo and Ms. Lu Wenmei Detained
Ms. Zhong Bo and Ms. Lu Wenmei were arrested by Chaoyang Police Station officers for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were detained for 15 days.
9. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuping Detained
Ms. Wang Xiuping, a 61-year-old former teacher at the Affiliated School of Shandong Agricultural University, spent a total of 12 years in prison or forced labor camps for practicing Falun Gong.
She was arrested several times, and her home ransacked. She was taken to a forced labor camp once and sentenced to prison three times. The third time she returned home after being released from prison was on December 25, 2022.
Ms. Wang was recently arrested yet again and taken to the Tai’an City Detention Center. Further information is pending.
10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fan Xiufang’s Home Ransacked
Three officers from the Zhengyang Police Station went to Ms. Fan Xiufang’s home on the afternoon of March 19, 2024. They ransacked the place and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and a computer. They later returned the computer.
