(Minghui.org) Two Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, residents were repeatedly harassed over the past few months for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Harassment of Ms. Li Xiaoyun

Five agents of the Huizhou City 610 Office broke into Ms. Li Xiaoyun’s home around 8 p.m. on January 21, 2024. Two of them searched her bedroom and confiscated two Falun Gong booklets and a flash drive. It’s not clear whether the flash drive contained Falun Gong related information.

Three officials from the street committee went to Ms. Li’s home around 10 a.m. on January 26, 2024, warning her not to go out.

On February 1, 2024, five police officers showed up to take photos of Ms. Li. They also warned her not to leave home.

Harassment of Ms. Xia Honglan

Ms. Xia Honglan, in her 70s, was reported by a young man around 2 p.m. on October 2, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station. Seven officers from the Xihu Police Station took her to their office and called the 610 Office. Two 610 Office agents came within the hour. One of them confiscated Ms. Xia’s purse, which had 100 yuan in banknotes with information about Falun Gong printed on them (as a way to raise awareness about the persecution given strict censorship in China), her home keys, and other belongings.

Two people dragged Ms. Xia into a waiting car and took her home. They handcuffed her behind her back so tightly that she was almost suffocated. They used her keys to get in and confiscated over 60 Falun Gong books, a computer, a media player, a digital camera, a cellphone, and a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder. They verbally abused Falun Gong’s founder during the raid. They left Ms. Xia there.

Ms. Xia was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong again on November 29, 2023 and was arrested by Hengli Police Station officers. They handcuffed her behind her back, took her to the police station, searched her bag, and confiscated several dozen yuan in banknotes with Falun Gong information printed on them.

Five people, including police officers, 610 Office agents, and residential committee members, knocked on Ms. Xia’s door at 7 p.m. on January 21, 2024. She refused to let them in. Although they left shortly after, they called Ms. Xia’s son and ordered him to keep her home. They also threatened to arrest Ms. Xia again if she went out to talk to people about Falun Gong. Under tremendous pressure, Ms. Xia’s son forbade her from going out.

Two people from the residential committee harassed Ms. Xia again around 3 p.m. on February 5, 2024.
