(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiao Chong Persecuted to Death in Prison
2. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Face Indictment
3. [Beijing] Gao Jian Arrested
4. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Xinfang Detained
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Qingbi Harassed
6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Fu Shuangyin Detained
1. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiao Chong Persecuted to Death in Prison
Ms. Jiao Chong of Siping City was persecuted to death in the Changchun City Women’s Prison in the summer of 2023. The details are as yet unknown.
She had been sentenced to nine years in prison. Her younger sister, Ms. Jiao Ling, was sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Jiao Ling’s daughter, Ms. Li Zuo, was arrested at the same time.
2. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Face Indictment
Several practitioners are facing indictment. They were arrested over last two years. Some were subjected to home arrest, but others were released on bail. The cases against Ms. Xu Xiaoyan and Ms. Qu Kun were submitted in the Xihu District Procuratorate.
3. [Beijing] Gao Jian Arrested
Gao Jian who lives in Gansu Province (gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Daxing Police Station in Beijing in September 2023.
Gao was arrested before for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Changli County, Hebei Province, and was sentenced to three years in prison.
4. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Xinfang Detained
Ms. He Xinfang was arrested by officers from the Heshui Police Station when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in Fuhe Village, Heshui Town on the morning of February 19, 2024. Xingning County Domestic Security Division deputy director Xing Zhengquan led officers to ransack her home. They seized two copies of Zhuan Falun and two memory cards. Ms. He is detained in Meixian District.
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Qingbi Harassed
Ms. Zhang Qingbi, who lives at No. 1 Laodong Village, Jiangbei District, was harassed at home by officers who might be from the Huangnibang Police Station around 5 p.m. on February 21, 2024. The officers saw couplets on her door with the words “Buddha Law Exists Forever,” tore them down, and told her she was not allowed to post them. Then they left.
6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Fu Shuangyin Detained
Fu Shuangyin, gender unknown, was stalked and arrested by officers from the Baihuazhou Police Station when he or she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in a department building on the evening of January 11, 2024. Fu was taken to the police station and detained in a detention center for five days.
