UK: Falun Dafa Practitioners Hold Candlelight Vigil on Human Rights Day to Protest the Persecution

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in many cities around the world held peaceful protests either before or on Human Rights Day. Practitioners have been brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in China for 25 years. Practitioners in the U.K. held a peaceful protest and a candlelight vigil near the Chinese Embassy in London on December 10, 2024. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, told people about the ongoing persecution, and displayed banners to call on people from all walks of life to help end the persecution.

The CCP’s Persecution Is Doomed to Fail

Mr. Dean, representative of the Falun Dafa Association in the U.K., is a young Vietnamese software engineer. He said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance helped me find my inner peace. I learned to become a better person and more optimistic. I want to become better every day.” He emphasized that, even though practitioners are subjected to the CCP’s brutal persecution, they never give up. The CCP’s lies and propaganda will only backfire and their crimes will be exposed to more people in the world. The CCP’s transnational persecution is doomed to fail.

In response to a recent series of attacks against Falun Dafa and Shen Yun Performing Arts orchestrated by the CCP, including negative media coverage and lawsuits, Mr. Dean said, “This is just another evil action committed by the CCP since 1999.

“I had the chance to see Shen Yun performers up close,” he said. “They strive to give their best and put their hearts into each performance, hoping that the audience sees the best. Countless audience members were astounded by Shen Yun’s beauty and have come to cherish the values Shen Yun conveys.”

The Persecution Is Absolutely Wrong

Robin was passing by and stopped to learn more about Falun Dafa. He signed the petition and said, “The persecution is absolutely wrong. There are also problems in Western society, but people will never go as far as selling human organs or sending people to concentration camps.”

After Robin signed the petition, he said, “The persecution is absolutely wrong.”

Mr. Ma, Chairman of the UK Headquarters of the China Democracy Party, said, “In China, one may be arrested and tortured just for exercising one’s freedom of speech. This is unacceptable to the Chinese people. We stand here today to tell the world that tyrannies like the CCP must be overthrown. Dictatorship must perish, and freedom will always belong to the people.

“I am honored to have met Falun Dafa practitioners today. I have great respect for what they have done over the decades, persisting in protesting the CCP and in speaking out for human rights. Their perseverance is admirable.”
