(Minghui.org) Since the Chinese Communist Party began the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, the police in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province have been actively arresting and harassing local Falun Gong practitioners.

Below are a few recent persecution cases. To protect their identifies, two practitioners’ first names were omitted.

Officers of the Shahejie Police Station broke into an elderly practitioner’s home in 2021 and demanded to talk to her. As the practitioner, surnamed Huang, didn’t pay attention, several officers sneaked into her bedroom and took away a few copies of her Falun Gong books from her drawer. Only after the police left did Ms. Huang realize her books were missing.

Ms. Luo, also an elderly practitioner, was reading a Falun Gong book at home in March 2023, when an officer of Shahejie Police Station suddenly broke in and snatched her book from her hand. He left without providing any paperwork.

On the evening of March 15, 2023, Ms. Tian Haiying was arrested by officers of the Changhong Police Station and Xunyang District Police Department. The police told her family the next day that she was held at the Ruichang City Detention Center, about 30 miles from Jiujiang.

Her family rushed to the detention center to deliver clothes to her, only to be told by the guards that Ms. Tian wasn’t there. The family went to several detention facilities in Ruichang, but couldn’t find her.

When the family called the police about Ms. Tian’s whereabouts, they said that Ms. Tian was actually detained in the Shizi Town, about 20 miles from Ruichang.
