Additional Persecution News from China – September 10, 2022 (6 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shangcheng County, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Xia and Ms. Ke Fanghua Detained
2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Yu Li Arrested, Family Repeatedly Harassed
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Fang and Ms. Sun Yuxia Detained
4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Arrested
5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Xiuyun Arrested
6. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Li Chuanhai Harassed

1. [Shangcheng County, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Xia and Ms. Ke Fanghua Detained

Ms. Chen Xia and Ms. Ke Fanghua were arrested by Domestic Security Division officers on May 1, 2022, after surveillance system cameras photographed them distributing Falun Gong flyers. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Xinyang Detention Center.

2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Yu Li Arrested, Family Repeatedly Harassed

Mr. Yu Li was arrested at work by agents from Yang County and the Hantai District 610 Office and officers from the Xinyuan Police Station on August 24, 2022. He is being held in the Yang County Detention Center. The agents and officers have been looking for his wife, Ms. Xia Jiangyan.

The Yang County Domestic Security Division officers went to his home and harassed his family many times after his arrest. They waved a paper and started to search the place. His family asked to read the paper. The officers rudely refused to let them read it. They seized Mr. Li’s motorcycle, computers, Falun Gong books, and other items. They intimidated the family and tried to silence them.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Fang and Ms. Sun Yuxia Detained

Ms. Ma Fang and Ms. Sun Yuxia were arrested by officer Yang Lei and two other officers from the Dongjuzi Police Station after 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2022, after someone reported them when they talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Yongchang Community Grocery Market. They were searched and their personal belongings were confiscated. They were held in the police station for three days, then held in the Jinwan Public Bathhouse across the street from the police station.

The practitioners started a hunger strike. Three days later, at noon on September 5, 2022, they were told to sign a release-on-bail document. They refused and asked to be unconditionally released. They were released. They later learned that the officers extorted 2,000 yuan from their families but did not give them receipts. 

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Pingxia was arrested at home by officer Wang Yong and others from the Beitian Township Police Station at noon on September 5, 2022. They went there in three cars. After seizing her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, the officers went to Ms. Wang Suying’s home and seized six Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, and a satellite dish.

The two practitioners were taken to the police station. Officers grabbed their hands and took their fingerprints. They extorted 3,000 yuan from Ms. Li’s son. The practitioners were released after 6:00 p.m.

More than ten officers from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Zhang Yafen and her husband Mr. Han Lianquan at their home in Zhang Village, Beitian Township on the morning of September 8, 2022. The officers seized their Falun Gong books, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and Falun Gong printouts. The officers went to their son’s home. No one was at home. The officers jumped over the fence, entered the place, and ransacked it.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the police station and released that night.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Xiuyun Arrested

Ms. Jiang Xiuyun was arrested on the bus on her way home by officer Zou Jiayu from the Jiahe Police Station after 10:00 a.m. on July 19, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, computers, cell phone, U-drive discs, and other items were confiscated. She was released on bail pending trial around 7:00 p.m.

6. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Li Chuanhai Harassed

Li Chuanhai lives in Xiangqiantun, Dalianhe Town. A month ago, the Dalianhe Police Department director and officers searched Li’s home for Falun Gong materials. They seized a radio that played Falun Gong exercise music and took Li to the police department. This was the second time Li was harassed at home.
