Eliminating My Preconceptions and Prejudice Against Others

(Minghui.org) Zhong is the principal of a school in a nearby township. We’ve known each other for a long time and years ago we used to talk a lot.

According to local practitioners, when Zhong saw a Dafa flyer they distributed near his home, he immediately called the police and reported it. After I heard this I had the feeling that he was not a good person because he could not distinguish between good and evil. I thought I would be on guard when associating with him...

When I clarified the truth near his home I kept encountering Zhong but I deliberately avoided him. One day, we happened to see each other and made eye contact. I had no choice but to say hello to him. He told me, “I live here and I also run a rural medical clinic. I come out for a walk every evening.” He told me his address and invited me to his home. I had no choice but to accept his invitation to visit him.

On the way back home I examined my reaction and I thought, “It’s like I couldn’t avoid him. Is our meeting predestined? I’m willing to travel a long way from home and I’ve overcome many difficulties to help people I don’t even know. Zhong is an old friend, so why do I always avoid him?”

Master said,

“I told you a long time ago that a Dafa disciple, or a cultivator, has no enemies. The only thing you have a role in is saving people,” (“Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Volume VII)

“Saving people is just that, saving people, and to pick and choose would not be merciful.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Volume IX)

Two days later I mentally prepared myself. I stood in front of Master’s photo and sincerely asked Master to help me and give me wisdom and courage. I took materials for clarifying the truth and went to visit Zhong.

He received me very warmly with tea and fruit. He praised me and said that through my hard work I made a living by learning carpentry, car repair, painting, furniture-making, and house repair. He pointed out that although I did not even finish junior high school I was able to pass the test to be a physician and opened a traditional Chinese medical clinic. My son also obtained a doctor’s certificate and opened his own clinic. He said with sincerity, “You are truly amazing!”

I said, “Thank you for your kind words. In fact, I was just struggling to survive. You know that my family was considered not good when the CCP came to power. My father and my uncle, who was your teacher, were both suppressed. Then there came the ten years of Cultural Revolution. China’s traditional values were completely destroyed and morality was criticized. My family was discriminated against, abused, and suppressed everywhere we went. It was so hard to just survive. No one would hire us. It is really painful to recall the past.”

Zhong told me that he also endured many difficulties during those years. His family background was not considered good either. His father was also persecuted, and later died. His family used to live in the city, but were forced to move to the countryside. Zhong was a teacher during the Cultural Revolution, so he was persecuted. His salary was suspended and he had to leave home. He was later admitted to a college to study Chinese medicine, but when he graduated the Cultural Revolution ended, and the leaders at the Cultural and Education Bureau told him to continue as a teacher, otherwise they would not give him the salaries that they owed him. So he had no choice but to continue working as a teacher. He later became the principal and opened a medical clinic. I sighed and said, “We both share the same fate, and we are both victims of this era.”

I then cut to the main subject and said most people in China have joined the CCP or its affiliated organizations. When the Party is held accountable for all the crimes it committed, what will happen to these people? The only way for them to avoid this disaster is to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations so that they won’t be implicated.

I said, “Most Chinese are disgusted with the CCP and it may soon collapse. Withdrawing from the CCP is the only way to stay safe. The world is going through such a big pandemic right now, and so many people have died.

“Since the establishment of the CCP’s regime in China, there have been so many movements, including the Three-antis, Five-antis, Campaign to Suppress Counterrevolutionaries, Campaign to Eradicate Hidden Counterrevolutionaries, and Anti-rightist Movements, Three Red Banners, three years of famine, the Cultural Revolution, and the massacre of students during the “June 4th” movement in 1989. More than 80 million Chinese died, which was more than the combined death toll of the First and Second World Wars.

“On July 20, 1999, the CCP began to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and harvests their organs while they are still alive for huge profits. This is challenging the bottom line of human morality, and it is an unprecedented evil on this planet.

“During the current pandemic the wicked CCP concealed information about the virus and caused chaos in the whole world. The CCP will be eliminated by heaven for sure. In order to stay safe you should withdraw from the CCP.”

Zhong was very appreciative, “You said it very well. Thank you for telling me so many truths that most people don’t know. I have benefited a lot from listening. When I traveled abroad, I saw the activities held by Falun Dafa practitioners. I was surprised and I really admired them. In fact, I have also read the book Zhuan Falun. When I was the principal of another school there was a couple who were both teachers and they practiced Falun Dafa. The police came to the school and wanted to arrest them, but I didn’t let the police take them away. I told the police that these two teachers were good people. I told the police that they could hold me responsible if anything bad happens. In the end, the police left without arresting them.”

Zhong withdrew from the CCP with no hesitation, and I gave him a set of truth-clarification materials which he happily accepted. Later, his whole family withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

This experience deeply moved me and helped me get rid of my preconceptions. Otherwise, wouldn’t this person who has a great predestined relationship with Falun Dafa be in danger? Thanks to Master’s merciful blessing and enlightenment I was able to put aside my attachments and clarify the truth to him face-to-face.
