My Understanding from Reading the Editorial “Call for Articles for the 19th China Fahui on Minghui.org”

(Minghui.org) One paragraph in the Minghui editorial “Call for Articles for the 19th China Fahui on Minghui.org” stood out to me. It said, “The submissions should be focused, clean, solid, and heartfelt. We should avoid mouthing slogans, going through the motions of writing articles, and exhibiting other types of Chinese Communist Party culture behaviors. There is no need to cover the entire cultivation process. Picking out three of our most memorable experiences over our cultivation journey or during the pandemic would suffice.”

I used to have the wrong understanding that Fahui submissions must talk about significant things, which would make whoever read it very excited and showcase how well the author had cultivated in Falun Dafa. As a result, when I tried to write papers in respond to the annual call for articles during the past two years, I simply couldn’t come up with anything significant I’ve done. I felt everything was so insignificant and not worth writing down. 

After reading this year’s call for the submission, I was shocked. I realized my intention of writing the paper before wasn’t pure. I was attached to validating myself, instead of the Fa. The intention to show off with significant achievements is also the manifestation of the Chinese Communist Party culture. 

As Dafa disciples, no matter what circumstances we are in, we must always put the Fa before everything else. Master is painstakingly taking care of each of us and guiding us on our spiritual journey. Every little improvement we are able to make comes from Master’s protection and care. 

Looking back at my cultivation path in the past two decades, everything was given and enabled by Master. When we write sharing papers, it’s to show how we’ve made progress under the guidance of Dafa. Only with clean writing can people see the real beauty and take it to heart. And only with heartfelt writing can our articles touch others. 

Master said,

“But that’s because you do your practice in the world. You won’t experience anything radical like suddenly getting yanked up into the sky, feet first, and being tormented there. It won’t be anything out of the ordinary. Your challenges will always take the form of normal events, such as being provoked, angered, mistreated, or being insulted for no apparent reason. All of which is to see how you respond.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

In my cultivation, most of my elevation was made through those seemingly ordinary things, instead of any earth-shattering events. After I changed my understanding, I now feel there are so many things I could write about. 

I also heard some practitioners saying things like, “My cultivation is very plain and there is nothing to write about.” Isn’t that similar to the reasoning I had before?

The editorial pointed out, “Writing experience-sharing articles is part of our cultivation journey.” 

I believe that the call for articles is an opportunity for us to turn in our exam paper to Master. Perhaps all the divine beings in the universe are watching us. Fellow practitioners, let’s all pick up our pen and don’t miss this opportunity to cultivate ourselves.
