Additional Persecution News from China – August 5, 2022 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Shufen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Guo Shufen was tried and later sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison by the Linghai Court in July, 2022. Ms. Guo has appealed the verdict to a higher court.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Junqing Harassed

Staff from the Ashi River Community Committee coerced Ms. Wu Junqing to meet agents from the Inspector Team by harassing her daughter on August 4, 2022. Agents from the Inspector Team coerced her to sign three statements that defame Falun Gong by threatening to punish her family members if she refused to comply.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Jihua Faces Trial

The Huangdao Court plans to try Ms. Song Jihua on August 10, 2022.

4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Juan Arrested

Ms. Wang Juan was arrested by officers from the Yuhua Police Department on August 4, 2022. Her home was ransacked.

5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiao Guichun and Ms. Wang Ce Tried in Court

Ms. Jiao Guichun and Ms. Wang Ce were tried by the Rongcheng Court on July 28 and August 2, 2022. Court staff told their families to go home and wait for the verdict.

6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cheng Chunxiang and Ms. Zhou Dongdong Arrested

Ms. Cheng Chunxiang and Ms. Zhou Dongdong were arrested on July 25, 2022. Ms. Zhou’s son was also arrested at the same time and released the next day. Ms. Wang was also arrested at that time.

7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Zhiying Harassed

Agents including Su Zhenquan from the Baoshan Town Government recently went to Ms. Li Zhiying’s home and harassed her. They demanded she write a statement to renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Li refused.

8. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Session

The Authorities of the Yishui County Political and Legal Affairs Committee plan to hold a brainwashing session at Yuandongtou Town on August 1, 2022. Six practitioners have been taken by force to attend the session.

Ms. Zhang Shengyan was arrested when she was having a nucleic acid test in a community center on July 31. Ms. Yang Mingxia was arrested while she was selling vegetables at a morning market on July 31, 2022

Over 10 agents came to Ms. Li Jinling’s home around 5 a.m. on July 31, 2022 and arrested her. They physically picked her up and forced her into a car. Huang Baohui, director of the Zhuge Town Comprehensive Management Office, was among the agents.

Officers called Ms. Liu Xia many times to demand she attend the brainwashing session. Agents from the town comprehensive management office called Ms. Wang Yuzhi’s husband and demanded she attend the brainwashing session. Mr. Chen Minjie, Mr. Lu Fengtian, Ms. Li Xiaomei and Mr. Ma Zhan were taken to the brainwashing session. Ms. Li Jinling has been released.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Qingsheng Arrested

Mr. Liu Qingsheng was arrested when he went out on July 27, 2022. Officers tried to take him to a detention center. Because of his high blood pressure, he was released.

10. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Xiaohua Harassed

Ms. Yang Xiaohua was harassed multiple times in July 2022. Six officers including group leader Xu from the Wenquan Development Zone Police Department went to Ms. Yang’s food shop to harass her. At the same time, another group of agents broke into her home and seized her personal belongings including her Falun Gong books.

11. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Guoxi Trapped Inside Home

Agents from the Bincheng District Court brought a locksmith and tried to break into Mr. Qi Guoxi’s home and arrest him on August 2, 2022. They failed to open the door as Mr. Qi had tight security measures. The next day Mr. Qi found that the door lock had been worked on from outside and he could no longer open the door from inside his home. He was trapped inside his home.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Fangfang Arrested

Over ten unidentified agents charged into Ms. Li Fangfang’s home in the Wanhelijing Residential Quarters on August 3, 2022. They arrested Ms. Li and took her to the Dugong Police Station. No other information is available.

13. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guiping, Mr. Zhu Zhongdai and Mr. Jiang Yongsheng were arrested near Dagujia Town by officers from the Dagujia Town Police Station on July 30, 2022. Their homes were ransacked and officers seized a large amount of their private belongings.

Ms. Zhang was sent to the Fushun Women’s Detention Center for a term of 15 days. Mr. Zhu was sent to the Qingyuan County Detention Center for a term of 15 days. Mr. Jiang was released on July 31, 2022.

14、[Jixi City，Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Chunmei, Ms. Wang Yanqiu and Ms. Tang Xufeng were arrested by officers from the Hengshan District Police Department on July 27, 2022. Ms. Zhang is being held at the Jixi City Detention Center. Both Ms. Wang and Ms. Tang are being held for 15 days.

Ms. You Hongyan was arrested by officers from the Hengshan District Police Department on August 3, 2022. She is being held in the Jixi City Detention Center.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hu, Ms. Bi, Ms. Liu Yuejing in her 80s, Ms. Zhu Guangrong and Ms. Yang were arrested. It is not known where they are being held.

16. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Qi Like, Ms. Lu Yuming, Ms. Wan Daihong, Ms. Gao Shujuan, Ms. Sun Yanchun and Ms. Fu Haiyan were arrested on July 15, 2022. Mr. Qi and Ms. Lu were held for 15 days. Ms. Wan and Ms. Gao were held for 10 days. Ms. Sun and Ms. Fu were released the same day they were arrested, but their homes are now under surveillance. All six practitioners have now been released.

17. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ai Kexiu and Ms. Wen Caizhao Arrested

Ms. Ai Kexiu was taken to the town government and threatened on August 4, 2022 by over 20 agents from the Peng County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Mengyang Town 610 Office and the Village Committee. She has been released. Ms. Wen Caizhao was arrested on the same day and is still being held in the town government.
