1. [Shanghai] Mr. Luo Wei Faces Trial

Mr. Luo Wei was scheduled to be tried in the Putuo Court on the afternoon of August 4, 2022. He has been detained for 17 months since his arrest by officers from the Putuo District State Security Division.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Pang You Arrested

Mr. Pang You of the Changping District was arrested at his home by officers from the Pingxifu Police Station on July 28, 2022. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books. His whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Liu Formally Arrested

Ms. Yang Liu of the west coast of Qingdao was formally arrested. She will be taken to the Changyang District for quarantine on August 29, 2022.

4. [Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province] Ms. Fang Shimei and Ms. Liao Wenxian Detained

Ms. Fang Shimei, 56, and Ms. Liao Wenxian, 60, distributed Falun Gong flyers along Ma Street in Xichou County on the morning of April 21, 2022. Police discovered this via the security monitoring system and went to arrest them. Ms. Fang escaped, but the officers arrested Ms. Fang and ransacked her home at 5:00 p.m. Her computers, printers, Falun Gong books and materials, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Fang and Ms. Liao are being held in the Xichou County Detention Center. Their cases were submitted to the court.

5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Dong Yiran Faces Trial

Mr. Dong Yiran of Huanggu District was scheduled to be tried in the Heping District Court at 9:00 a.m. on August 4, 2022.

6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Wu Guangyu and Others Arrested

Mr. Wu Guangyu, in his 70s, his wife Ms. Wang Su’e, in her 80s, and Mr. Zhong Pengcheng, in his 60s, of Baiyun District were arrested on July 28, 2022, and their homes were ransacked. Mr. Wu and Ms. Wang were released that night.

Officers forcibly collected samples of Mr. Zhong’s blood. As a result, his right elbow was dislocated and swollen. He was released on bail at 9:00 a.m. on July 30, 2022.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Husband and Wife Detained

Husband and wife, Guo and Mao, first names unknown, were arrested at their home on the evening of July 13, 2022. Guo is being held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center. Mao’s whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Li Wanqing Arrested

Mr. Li Wanqing was arrested by officers from the Sunhe Police Station on July 29, 2022.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Yulan Harassed, Mr. Chen Xiaohui Arrested

Ms. Zheng Yulan, in her 80s, lives in the Ranghulu District. Twenty four officers broke into her home on the morning of July 12, 2022. They pushed down her daughter-in-law and injured her hand. Mr. Chen Xiaohui, Ms. Zheng’s son, watched this from the home security camera and thought his family was being robbed. He rushed home and was arrested by the officers.

The officers ransacked the place and confiscated all of Ms. Zheng’s Falun Gong books and exercise music players.

10. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Jia Fengzhong Faces Third Hearing

The Zunhua City Court scheduled the third hearing on Mr. Jia Fengzhong’s case for 9:00 a.m. on August 2, 2022.

11. [Guangshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Quanlong Under House Arrest

Mr. Chen Quanlong, a former tax agent of Guangshui City, was reported to police when he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in July 2022. The Guangshui City Police Department illegally put him under house arrest.

12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Yan Bo Arrested

Yan Bo, gender unknown, of Dayan Village, Buzhuang Town, Changyi City, was arrested on August 1, 2022, and Yan’s home was ransacked. Yan was taken to the Changyi Domestic Security Division.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Provice] Ms. Zhang Chunyu Harassed

Ms. Zhang Chunyu of the Acheng District received harassing phone calls from director Guan and officers from the Heping Police Station on August 1, 2022. Afterwards, the officers went to her home and tried to force her to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.

14. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained, One Released on Bail

Ms. Wang Genlan, Ms. Yang Xiuying, and Xu Qinghua (gender unknown) of Gaotang County were reported and arrested by officers from the Qingping Police Station after 10:00 a.m. on July 15, 2022, when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Qingping Town. Ms. Wang and Xu were given ten days of detention and taken to the Liaocheng City Administrative Detention Center at around 3:30 p.m. on July 17. The Gaotang Domestic Security Division is building a criminal case against Ms. Yang. She was released on bail.

15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Yanqin and Ms. Bao Arrested

Ms. Bao, first name unknown, was arrested by officers from the Changyi City Domestic Security Division and the Xiashan Domestic Security Division on July 25, 2022. Her personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Yu Yanqin was arrested on June 25, 2022 without a stated reason, by officers from the Changyi City Domestic Security Division and the Yinma Police Station. She suffered severe chest tightness, headache, swollen and numb legs, and could not walk. She was released that afternoon. The officers seized her Falun Gong books.

16. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Huangchengying Police Station and village committee members harassed Li Yuqing, who is in her 80s, at her home in mid-May, 2022. They seized her two Falun Gong exercise music players and two Falun Gong books. They then went to Yu Lanting’s home and seized a Minghui Weekly publication.

They went to Ms. Wang Lanying’s home and Yu Lianying’s home. They were able to confiscate their media players. They photographed both practitioners without asking their permission, then they left.

17. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Kong Dequan Arrested

Mr. Kong Dequan of Suntuan Village, Guan County, was arrested by officers from the Guan County Police Department around July 29, 2022.

18. [Beijing] Ms. Kou Rumin Arrested

Ms. Kou Rumin of the Chaoyang District was arrested on the morning of July 28, 2022. Her home was ransacked.

19. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Shukun Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shukun was arrested by Domestic Security Division officers on the afternoon of August 2, 2022.

20. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Lei and Li Detained

Li of the Changping District is being held in the Shunyi Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Lei is being held in the Changping Detention Center.
