Toronto: Falun Dafa Praised During Parade Held to Expose Persecution in China

(Minghui.org) The Canada Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held on July 16, 2022, and the following morning, a beautiful Sunday, nearly 1,000 Canadian practitioners did the exercises and held a rally at Queen’s Park in Toronto. A grand parade followed.

They wished to expose the 23 year long persecution and the brutal crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to the world’s people. They called for the CCP to be dismantled and that the persecution end.

Many people stopped to watch the parade and some praised it as spectacular and remarkable. Passersby took photos or videos. People waved at practitioners and gave them a thumb-ups to show their support. A tourist bus slowed down and the people on it took photos of the parade with their cell phones.

Practitioners held a grand parade in Toronto to tell people about the persecution.

“This is not just a parade. It brings important messages to Canadians.”

Lawyer Richard Forget said, “Communism is a mistake.”

Richard Forget is a lawyer with close to 30 years of experience. He watched the parade for quite a while and said, “This is not just a parade. It brings important messages to Canadians.”

He said, “They are teaching Canadians to judge what’s right and what’s wrong, telling people the lesson learned from the fact that communism is a mistake.”

He explained, “Many people still take both communism and socialism as good. Thinking that it is right to equalize the rich and the poor, not knowing that the essence of communism is deprivation of freedom, corruption, monopoly of wealth, persecution and harmful to a large number of people.”

He said practitioners were doing something remarkable. “This is very important. I am standing here today to show my support. In fact, many people are listening to what they have to say and supporting their march. This is not just a march, an optional gathering, but rather something very serious.”

After he read a flyer on Falun Dafa, he said the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance resonated with him. He said, “Exactly! In Canada we need this, which shows us peace and goodness. Since (values of) this country are goodness and peace, how can you do business with a country that is against these values? That is wrong!”

He said, the Canadian government should say “No” to the CCP, “Why would the government want to do business with China when there are so many human rights issues over there? Canada should say No! It should put our values first and refuse to do business with China, because the CCP is totally evil.”

“How can they be so peaceful? Because they are so kind.”

Nurse Maveen said, “People should not lose their lives just because they do the Falun Dafa exercises.”

After nurse Maveen learned that practitioners were subjected to the persecution because they upheld their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was very moved and said, “We support this march. People should not lose their lives just because they do the Falun Dafa exercises. This is the freedom one is entitled to. Anything that kills and harms people is anti-humanity and should be rejected. Why would communism say it is for the people, but what it does is to harm them?!”

She pointed to the parade and said, “They are so peaceful. I have never seen anyone who is that peaceful. Look, those police have nothing to do. One can be so peaceful because of their kindness. They believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which is beneficial to anyone. Why would they be subjected to the persecution?!”

Admires Practitioners’ Steadfastness

Frank who teaches in Toronto said he admires practitioners.

Frank, who teaches in Toronto said, “I have seen practitioners protesting the persecution all along through various means, such as marches, for so many years. I truly admire their steadfastness. They never gave up, ever. The Chinese government has been persecuting them, whereas they have been opposing the persecution and never stopped their efforts for one day.”

He said, “I truly admire them. In terms of the crack-down by the Chinese government, it’s a shame!”

Thanks Practitioners

Rose-Marie was excited to see the parade.

Rose-Marie was very excited when she saw the parade. She said she was aware of the persecution happening in China, but through today’s event, she learned more. She signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. She also thanked practitioners, “It’s so inspiring to see this group coming together and bringing attention to something so important. I’m grateful to everyone involved, which will bring more kindness to our world.”

“The persecution is outrageous”

After Ron Desbiens, a Toronto resident, learned about the event through his practitioner friend, he came to Queen’s Park to learn the exercises that morning. Afterwards he said, “The movements are very slow and gentle. I feel great about the exercises.”

After he learned that practicing Falun Dafa wasn’t just doing the exercises, but also required one to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to cultivate one’s xinxing, he said, “The three words imply peace and prosperity, which are important to people.”

Ron signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. He said he knew today’s event called to end the CCP’s persecution of practitioners, “I am aware of the persecution. The CCP can even commit the crime of going as far as conducting live organ harvesting, which is outrageous. I will also tell many people the truth about this persecution.”

“The persecution is cruel”

Aminata from France

Aminata is a university student from France. A practitioner offered her a flyer about Falun Dafa and clarified the facts to her.

She asked, “Why is it that a group of practitioners who hold themselves to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and only want to make themselves more peaceful and improve their health, are being persecuted by the CCP? This is so cruel. It’s really hard for me to understand.

She added, “I don’t think the way the CCP treats people is right. I hope practitioners can have the freedom to practice. I will also share the information about this persecution with more people.”

Teacher from China: “The CCP’s propaganda is completely false. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is right.”

Ms. Wang is a teacher from Shanghai City, China. She said, “I was attracted by the words – Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance on the Tian Guo Marching Band’s clothing. This is well said. People should act according to these three words, to have sincerity, kindness and forbearance.”

“I didn’t know much about Falun Dafa. In China people are surrounded by the CCP’s propaganda. After I came overseas and learned the truth, I feel that CCP’s propaganda is totally false. I have observed that practitioners are normal, unlike what the CCP claims. In addition, they are always in high spirits. It is perfectly right to conduct themselves according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They should not be persecuted.”

She added, “My parents have lived in Canada for a while. I planned to come over this March to visit them, but due to the lock-down in Shanghai, my flight was canceled. When I finally arrived in Canada and met my parents, I felt very relieved. What makes me feel even better is that I’m happy to see my parents living in such a free and peaceful country.”

“Soon after I came to Toronto, I ran into practitioners in Chinatown and listened as they clarified the truth about the persecution to me. I decided to quit the CCP and wipe out the evil pledge I made, to give my life for the CCP! I noticed practitioners’ activity today. I just want to say that I very much appreciate Falun Dafa!”

After she was told about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Ms. Wang said she would read it, “Since I came out of China, I now realize more and more the differences between a centralized society ruled by the CCP and a free country.”

“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are important”

Felipe Vanni from Brazil came to Toronto for work. He said he was attracted by the magnificent parade and began recording it on his cell phone.

Feliz explained that he never heard of Falun Dafa, or how the CCP persecutes practitioners. He said, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are all very important for modern society. After a practitioner clarified the facts to him, he said, “I heard before how the CCP controls China. However, I was not aware of this persecution against Falun Dafa. I thought the parade was great, their procession was spectacular, and it can make more people understand the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP. I will tell more people about this persecution.”

“Thank you for telling people the truth”

Naz from Toronto said, “We should all follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

After Naz, a Toronto resident, read a flyer about Falun Dafa she said, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance resonates with me. We should all follow these principles. I think Falun Dafa doesn’t only help people exercise their bodies, but also have healthy minds.”

She listened attentively to the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, and said, “I really can’t believe that being a good person would cause one to be subjected to this cruel persecution. You are doing the right thing by letting more people know about this cruel persecution still happening under the CCP. I will tell more people about this truth. I support you. I’m glad I met you! Thank you for telling people the truth.”
