Additional Persecution News from China – June 23, 2022 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Quanzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Huang Huaqiong Detained in a Brainwashing Center

1. [Quanzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Huang Huaqiong Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Huang Huaqiong is a math teacher at the Nanpu Middle School in the Quangang District. She was arrested on June 18, 2022 for distributing truth clarifying materials. Some other practitioners were also arrested on the same day. She has been taken to a brainwashing center and will be detained there for 30 days.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Guiqin Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Wang Guiqin from the Donghuanjiayuan Community in the Licheng District was sentenced to two years in prison by the Zhangqiu Court on June 16, 2022.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Liu Qiang Arrested

Liu Qiang (gender unknown) from the Zichuan District was arrested by officers from the Shangchenglu Police Station in the Zichuan District on the morning of June 15, 2022.

4. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Sufen Harassed

Ms. Guo Sufen lives in Taxiguo Village, Matou Town. Several officers from the Matou Town Police Station went to Ms. Guo’s home on the morning of June 20, 2022. They claimed that someone reported Ms. Guo to the police and searched her home. They confiscated all of her Falun Gong books. Ms. Guo’s husband was at home at the time.

5. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Xiaoqin Arrested

Ms. He Xiaoqin from the Longgang District was arrested a few days ago. She is currently detained in the Longgang District Detention Center.

6. [Quanzhou City, Fujian Province] Mr. Huang Yongbin Arrested

Mr. Huang Yongbin has a curtain shop in Qianhuang Village, Qianhuang Town. According to his wife, Mr. Huang was taken away from his home by police on the evening of June 18, 2022. His computer and his items related to Falun Gong were confiscated. Mr. Huang was later taken to a brainwashing center.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Cui’e Arrested

Ms. Wu Cui’e met officer Ji Wanguang from the Huaian Police Department when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 15, 2022. Ji snatched Ms. Wu’s bag and made a phone call. Several officers came and arrested her. She was interrogated at the police station and was released later that afternoon.

8. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Dai Qingping Faces Trial

Mr. Dai Qingping will be tried in the Yuhua District Court on the morning of July 6, 2022.

9. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Da Wusan, over 50, and Ms. Shi, over 70, both from Hunyuan County, were reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in the villages around Shagetuo Town, and were arrested at noon on June 21, 2022. Mr. Da's home was ransacked around 4 p.m. that day, as well as the home of Mr. Er Zhu, who lives in the same village as Mr. Da. The police confiscated his laptop, printer, and Falun Gong books. Because Mr. Er Zhu’s wife tried to stop the police from taking the items, she was also arrested.

10. [Shanghai] Chen Ping Arrested

Chen Ping (gender unknown) was reported to police for talking to a taxi driver about Falun Gong on June 14, 2022 and was arrested on the afternoon of June 17, 2022. Chen’s home was ransacked, and the police confiscated the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, dozens of Falun Gong books, paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong, amulets, a computer, USB drives, a media player, cell phone, address book, and other items.

11. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Geng Fengying was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong, and three officers from the Jianshejie Police Station, including Li Tao, searched her home on the morning of June 17, 2022. They returned to Ms. Geng’s home in the afternoon and ransacked it. They took Ms. Geng to the police station. Ms. Geng was released around 10:30 p.m.

Ms. Zhang Baozhi was harassed by officer Li Tao from the Jianshejie Police Station at around 10 a.m. on June 21, 2022. They asked if Ms. Zhang still practiced Falun Gong and what she did. When they tried to videotape her, she stopped them.

Two officers from the Songguantun Police Station in the Economic Development Zone went to Ms. Liu’s home. They had called Ms. Liu previously and told her to sign on a form, but she refused.

12. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Wang Yajun and Bai Baohua Arrested

Practitioners from Baijiagou Village in Daolin Town, including Wang Yajun (gender unknown) and Ms. Bai Baohua, went to Sifangtai Village to distribute truth clarifying materials on the afternoon of June 17, 2022. They were reported to the police by a village official and were arrested. They were taken to the Jiudaoling Town Police Station first and then to the Yi County Police Department. They were released that evening.

13. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Yanru Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yanru lives in the Xuzhuang Village, Gudian Town, Wangdu County. She was reported to the police by village officials for posting stickers (which had information about Falun Gong) in mid-June 2022. When the police came to arrest her, she managed to escape. The police took her non-practitioner husband to the police station. He was released later. The police kept calling or coming to harass her family. Ms. Zhao was arrested by officers from the Gudian Town Police Station on the morning of June 22, 2022.
