(Minghui.org) Three Dai County, Shanxi Province residents were sentenced to prison on December 5, 2021 for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Zhou Xiuli

Ms. Zhou Xiuli, 58, was arrested on August 7, 2020, while visiting her mother in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, after the police saw her distributing Falun Gong materials there. She was later extradited to Dai County, where the Dai County Police Department officially arrested her on September 9 and held her at the Yizhou City Detention Center. She was sentenced to four years with a 6,000-yuan fine on December 5, 2021.

Ms. Zhou was previously arrested on November 21, 2013, also for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three years at the Yuci Women’s Prison.

Ms. Gao Chanling

Ms. Gao Chanling, 56, was arrested at home by more than twenty police officers at around 6 a.m. on October 15, 2020. Her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, photo of Falun Gong’s founder and bank deposit cards were confiscated.

Ms. Gao was first given 15 days of administrative detention and then transferred to the Dai County Brainwashing Center. As she refused to renounce Falun Gong or report on other practitioners, the authorities took her to the Yizhou City Detention Center and approved her arrest on December 10, 2020. She was sentenced to 3.5 years and fined 5,000 yuan on December 5, 2021.

Ms. Gao’s children all work out of town. Her husband suffers schizophrenia and is also bedridden after having a stroke. He now struggles to care for himself with his wife jailed for her faith.

Ms. Lang Jiyun

A group of officers from Dai County Police Department suddenly ransacked Ms. Lang Jiyun’s home on November 19, 2020. Upon finding a DVD with information about Falun Gong, the police took her to the Dai County Brainwashing Center. She was officially arrested on December 10, 2020 and transferred to the Yizhou City Detention Center. The 62-year-old woman was sentenced to 3.5 years and fined 5,000 yuan on December 5, 2021.
