Additional Persecution News from China – July 1, 2022 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tancheng County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wen Dehuai Detained

Mr. Wen Dehuai from Huanggouya Village was arrested at home by officers from the Guichang Township Police Station on May 23, 2021. He was detained in the Tancheng County Detention Center for more than five months and went on a hunger strike. It was recently learned that Mr. Wen was transferred to the Jinan Prison and is expected to be released in November 2022.

2. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Shuyun Sentenced to Three Years and Six Months in Prison

Ms. Liu Shuyun was arrested on the afternoon of June 24, 2019 for posting truth clarifying materials. She was later sentenced to three years and six months in prison and has been detained in the Jilin Women’s Prison. At the end of 2021, her family was told that if they paid 3,500 yuan her term would be reduced to six months. However, Ms. Liu has been detained for three years and has not been released yet.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Liu Arrested

Ms. Yang Liu was arrested at home by a group of officers on the afternoon of June 20, 2022. Her home was ransacked and the police confiscated her computer and truth clarifying materials. She is currently detained in the Zhuhai Police Station. The police showed their surveillance videos to Ms. Yang and her husband. They had been monitoring Ms. Yang for a while.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Gao Jie Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Gao Jie from the Hechuan District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested on June 17, 2022. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated a photo Falun Gong’s founder, all her Falun Gong books, computer, paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong, etc. Ms. Gao is currently detained in the Wuzun Brainwashing Center in Hechuan District.

5. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wu Yuying Harassed

Ms. Wu Yuying was harassed at home by Director Wang from the West Road Sub-district Office on the morning of June 19, 2022. She was pressured to sign the four statements, which she refused. Director Wang called the police. They came and ransacked her home.

Two days later at noon on June 21, 2022, two officers came to tell Ms. Wu to go to the police station to sign the list of confiscated items. After she arrived she was told to sign three lists and one of them was for her. However, they didn’t give it to her after she signed.

6. [Nanyang City, Henan City] Ms. Xia Wenyue Arrested

Ms. Xia Wenyue was arrested at home by officers from the Nanyang Police Department and the Xinhua Police Station on the morning of May 11, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong books, truth clarifying materials, computer, ID card, and two cell phones. Ms. Xia was taken to the Xinhua Police Station first and then to the Zhanghenglu City Police Department. She was released at midnight.

7. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Kun Arrested

Mr. Hu Kun lives in the Dongshilipu Village, Wangcun Town, Laishui County. She was arrested and was taken to the Wangcun Town Police Station on the morning of June 28, 2022. After her family was extorted 300 yuan, she was released in the afternoon.

8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Numerous Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the police station in the Economic Development Zone of Dongchangfu District, went to Meihong’s home in Xintun Community on the afternoon of June 29, 2022. They ransacked the place and arrested several practitioners.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ji Jinmu Faces Trial

Mr. Ji Jinmu from Jiaozhou City will be tried by the Huangdao District Court at 10 a.m. on July 6, 2022.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wei Shujie Faces Trial

Ms. Wei Shujie will be tried online by the Daowai District Court at 9 a.m. on July 2, 2022. She is currently detained in the No. 2 Detention Center.

11. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Lunwen and His Wife Ms. Yang Zuojuan Arrested

Mr. Lu Lunwen and his wife Ms. Yang Zuojuan were arrested at a parking garage by four officers around 9 a.m. on May 19, 2022. Their home was ransacked. The police confiscated their photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, two cell phones, and other items. They were released on bail pending trial around 5 p.m.

12. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Xianjin Harassed

More than 10 people from the Gaozhou City Politic and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, the Gaozhou City Police Department, and the Dajing Town Police Station, went to Mr. Wu Xianjin’ s home on May 21, 2022. They ransacked his home. Mr. Wu was taken to the Panzhou Sub-district and was held there for a long time that day. Mr. Wu and his wife decided to stay away from their home to avoid further persecution.

People from the Gaozhou City 610 Office went to Mr. Wu’s home again on June 27, 2022. Mr. Wu and his wife were not at home. They went to Mr. Wu’s workplace. After they didn’t find him there, they called Mr. Wu’s sister to look for him. His sister refused to cooperate. The next day, they went to search Mr. Wu’s home again.

13. [Ulanhot City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhao Xiaorong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Xiaorong was arrested at home by officers from the Ulanhot City Police Department around 10 p.m. on June 26, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhao is currently detained in the Ulanhot City Detention Center.

14. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Xiuchun Arrested

Ms. Hu Xiuchun, around 65, is a retired teacher. She was arrested and taken to the Xinhua Police Station around June 24, 2022. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
