Additional Persecution News from China – June 21, 2022 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 35 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Cao Changqi Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Mr. Cao Changqi, 76, was arrested on the afternoon of May 31, 2021, and has been detained since then. It was learned that he was sentenced to four years in prison and transferred to the Shandong Province Men’s Prison.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Mr. Dong Yiran Submitted to the Court

The case against Mr. Dong Yiran was submitted to the Yuhong District Court by the Yuhong District Procuratorate and the Maluwan Police Station in the Heping District on June 10, 2022.

3. [Anguo City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Li Ya (gender unknown) was arrested around 2 p.m. on June 20, 2022, and the home was ransacked. Ms. Wang Jinrong was arrested between 2:30 - 3 p.m. on June 20, 2022. Her home was ransacked as well. Her computer and printer were confiscated. Ms. Deng Limin was arrested at 3 p.m. on the same day. Her computer, printer and printing paper were confiscated. The three practitioners are currently detained in the Anguo City Police Department.

4. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zeng Ailing Arrested

Ms. Zeng Ailing, 60, was arrested at her store by five people including Chen Zhao from the Ruian City Police Department on the afternoon of June 13, 2022. Ms. Zeng was taken to the Feiyun Police Station in Ruian City for interrogation. She was later taken to the Wenzhou Detention House and was placed under 12-day detention.

5. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Qiang Arrested

Mr. Liu Qiang, over 30,  from the Zichuan District was arrested by officers from the Shangchenglu Police Station for posting stickers near Liuxian Lake on the morning of June 15, 2022. His home was ransacked. He is currently detained in the Boshan District.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Chunrui’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Wang Chunrui was reported to police after talking to a student about Falun Gong on June 12, 2022. Yan Zhende, deputy of the Longhua County Domestic Security Division, and two other officers went to Ms. Wang’s home. They confiscated three Hong Yin books, three of Master’s articles, and one handwritten copy of Hong Yin II. They warned Ms. Wang not to go out and talk to people about Falun Gong.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Wu Qun Missing

Mr. Wu Qun from the Shapingba District was taken away somewhere after he served a three-year term in prison.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Jun, Ms. Tian Huazhen, Ms. Zhang Jiao’e, Ms. Li Chunlian and Ms. Qiu were arrested.

Ms. Chen Jun is being held in the Jiangxia District Detention Center. The other four practitioners were detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Wuhan City.

9. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Weixian Harassed

Three officers from the Xiangjiang Police Station in Dongchangfu District went to Mr. Li Weixian’s home in Qigan Village around 6 p.m. on June 10, 2022. Mr. Li was resting in bed when they came. After waking Mr. Li up, one of the officers forcefully grabbed Mr. Li’s hands to imprint the fingerprints of both his hands on the fingerprint box.

10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Gulou Police Station including Zhao Xinchao went to Xu Shaohua’s home around June 10, 2022. They harassed him by phone once in May 2022.

Six officers including Zhou Shenqiao from the Dongchangfu District Police Department and those from the Gulou Police Station harassed Zhou Zhenting’s daughter around June 13, 2022. They also ransacked Zhou’s home.

Three or four officers from the Yansi Police Station in Dongchangfu District went to Shi Jinling’s home on June 13, 2022.

Officers from the Liaoda Police Station went to Shi Haixia’s home on June 13, 2022. Since no one was at home, they took a photo of the door and left.

Officers from the Gulou Police Station went to Ms. Zhou Mingyu’s home on the afternoon of June 13, 2022. They waited until Ms. Zhou returned home around 8 p.m. They wanted to collect a sample of her blood but she refused to cooperate.

Officers from the Liuyuan Police Station went to Ms. Zhang Wenling’s home around June 15, 2022. Ms. Zhang was not at home. The officers then went to harass another practitioner surnamed Zhang.

Wang Zibao from Dongchangfu District 610 Office harassed a practitioner surnamed Han on the phone in early June 2022.

11. [Beizhen City, Liaoning Province] Yang Yulin and Zhang Yanfang Harassed

Four officers from the Changxingdian Police Station went to harass Yang Yulin (gender unknown) on June 20, 2022. They searched Yang’s home and confiscated a desk calendar and a pendant. They also tore off a wall poster. Several hours later, they returned to question Yang and asked where the calendar and other items came from. Yang simply told them that they were bought from the market.

The officers also went to Ms. Zhang Yanfang’s home on the same day. They searched her home and confiscated some Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Changxing Police Station for interrogation at noon. She was placed under 5-day detention but it would not be executed due to the pandemic. She came back home around 7 p.m. that day.

12. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuehong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuehong was arrested by officers in the Dongchuangfu District on June 11, 2022. It is unknown where she is detained.

13. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wu Yuying Harassed

Director Wang from the Xilu Sub-district Office and Han Chun from the Changfeng Community went to Ms. Wu Yuying’s home at 10 a.m. on June 19, 2022. They pressured Ms. Wu to sign a document, which she refused. They called in several police officers. These people searched her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, the wall poster with the words, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance", and her Falun Gong books.

14. [Leizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Yuli’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Huang Yuli is a retired teacher from the No. 8 Primary School of Leizhou City. She was arrested in Zhongshan City in 2020 for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was sentenced to one year in prison by the Zhongshan City Court. After Ms. Huang was released from prison, she found that her pension was suspended by the Leizhou City Human Resource Department. She tried to get her pension reinstated but thus far has not been able to.

15. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Shihai Arrested

Mr. Li Shihai lives in the Lijiaqudi Village, Renzhao Town, Pingdu City. He was arrested by a group of people on June 14, 2022. It is unknown where he is detained.

16. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Huang Li Arrested

Officers including Wang Hui, head of the Li County Domestic Security Division, and deputy Liu Li, went to the bookstore which Ms. Huang Li managed around 10 a.m. on June 20, 2022. They ransacked the store and arrested Ms. Huang.

17. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Mr. Li Jianxi and His Family Members Arrested

The police in Jimei District went to the Danhao Medical Center on the morning of June 19, 2022. They arrested Mr. Li Jianxi, his wife, and his son as well as the other employees in the medical center. Some employees were released later.

Mr. Li Jianxi’s home in Zhangping City was ransacked by officers from Xiamen City and Zhangping City around 8 a.m. on June 19, 2022. They also ransacked the home of Mr. Li Jianhua and Ms. Hua Rongli. Mr. Li Jianhua is the younger brother of Mr. Li Jianxi. Ms. Hua Rongli was taken away but she was later released.

18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Lixia Arrested

Four officers from the Qingming Street Police Station went to Ms. Wang Lixia’s home around 9 p.m. on June 18, 2022. They took Ms. Wang to the police station because she was reported to the police by someone. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Wang was placed under 5-day detention and is currently detained in the Weizigou Detention Center.
