(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from the cities of Angarsk, Irkutsk, and Cheremkhov, Russia, participated in the Angarsk City Day Celebration and held activities to introduce the spiritual practice to the public on May 29.
Practitioners introduce Falun Dafa during the Angarsk City Day Celebration on May 29.
At the event, people displayed their own art and handicrafts in the park where the Petrochemist Cultural Palace is located. Practitioners set up banners, demonstrated the exercises, and distributed information about Falun Dafa. They also collected signatures on a petition to condemn the persecution in China and taught people how to make beautiful lotus flowers.
Telling people about Falun Dafa and collecting signatures on a petition to end the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)Practitioners taught people how to make paper lotus flowers
Several practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises while others taught people how to make lotus flowers. Some distributed information about Falun Dafa and explained that those who practice it follow the characteristics of the universe—Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Practitioners also told people how the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) persecutes practitioners in China.
Practitioners collected signatures on an “End the CCP” petition. The signature drive has been conducted in Siberia for nearly a year. Many people who stopped to listen to practitioners tell about the CCP’s crimes and explain why the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa signed the petition.
Some said they avoided signing other petitions but wanted to sign this one. A young man said to his girlfriend, “Do you remember I told you about the killing of Falun Dafa practitioners in China and the sale of their organs? Sign this petition.”
In Angarsk, many people already know about Falun Dafa, because practitioners have been clarifying the truth, collecting signatures, and participating in local activities for more than ten years.
A practitioner approached an amateur performer in Russian national attire to ask for a signature. The performer said, “You are Falun Dafa. Yes, I will sign it. I have known about you for 15 years, and you are all good people.”
A Christian told his students after hearing about the CCP’s live organ harvesting, “This (organ harvesting) evil.”
A young woman approached a practitioner and said that, as a child, she had participated in the “Petals of Peace” activity in this park and learned to make paper lotuses. Practitioners usually clarified the truth to the children, told them about the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and let people know about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
The woman said that she was happy to see practitioners again. She said that she grew up according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that practitioners told her about. Now she is an adult and married. The woman’s mother came over with tears in her eyes, thanking the practitioners for their kindness and the important things they did. The practitioners were moved and inspired.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, issued an order to ban the practice.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. More have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply the organ transplant industry.
