Additional Persecution News from China – June 4, 2022 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Zhenxiang Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Chengdong Police Station in Gaoxin District and staff members from the Yanqiao Community waited downstairs at the building where Ms. Yan Zhenxiang worked as a house helper in an elderly lady’s home on May 27, 2022. Ms. Yan was arrested when she came downstairs and was taken to the Xiaohenongzhuang Brainwashing Center in Xiaochang County.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Ying Detained in Prison

Ms. Li Ying from the Development District is currently detained in the No.12 Ward of Shenyang Women’s Prison. Her family members are not allowed to visit her because of the epidemic. She is allowed to call her family once a month. Her family received a call in March when she was just taken to prison. Two months have now passed and they have not heard from her.

3. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yang Jingcai Detained

Police from the Yunyan District ransacked Ms. Yang Jingcai’s home and confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other items on the afternoon of April 13, 2022. Afterward, they went to Ms. Yang’s workplace and arrested her around 5 p.m.

Ms. Yang’s family did not know where she was detained until they were informed in May to send money for her living expenses. Their request to visit her was rejected.

4. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Juan Detained in Prison

Ms. Chen Juan was taken and detained in the Heizuizi Women’s Prison on February 9, 2022.

5. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Changhua and Ms. Ma Shoujuan Arrested or Harassed

Officer Ma Qian from the Linqu County Domestic Security Division of Linqu County and three officers from the local police station went to Ms. Yin Changhua’s home in Hongguang Village of Yeyuan Town around 9 a.m. on May 30, 2022. They confiscated several Falun Gong books and some truth clarifying materials and took Ms. Yin to the town police station. After Ms. Yin’s son paid the police 10,000 yuan Ms. Yin was released in the afternoon.

On the same day the police also went to Ms. Ma Shoujuan’s home who lives in the same village as Ms. Yin. They ransacked Ms. Ma’s home and confiscated a media player.

6. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Guan Xiaoguang Arrested

Guan Xiaoguang (gender unknown) from Qi County was arrested by local police around June 1, 2022. Guan is possibly detained in a brainwashing center.

7. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Yuqiong and Ms. Huang Yinglian Subjected to Brainwashing

Ms. Deng Yuqiong was taken away by officers from the Lintou Town Police Station in the Dianbai District and a village official when she was picking lychee on June 1, 2022. She was detained in the police station. Two so-called “education helpers” were called in to brainwash her.

Ms. Huang Yinglian is a teacher at Daya Middle School in Lintou Town. She was tricked by the town governor to go to the drug rehabilitation office opposite the town police station on June 1, 2022. Two officers were there as well as the three so-called “education helpers” who were hired by the Guangdong Province Government.

Both practitioners are back home now.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Gao Yulan and Ms. Yao Zhifeng Harassed

Ms. Gao Yulan and Ms. Yao Zhifeng live in Xiaoyangzhuang Village, Hebeitun Township. Officers from the Daliang Township Police Station in Wuqing District came to harass them for the third time on May 31, 2022, to verify the so-called evidence. The practitioners were interrogated and videotaped. They refused to cooperate and did not sign anything. Ms. Yao’s husband was later called to the police station and was forced to sign the paperwork.

9. [Zaoyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ge Shiyin Arrested

Mr. Ge Shiyin, over 70, was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and was tracked by police in the afternoon of May 1, 2022. Several police officers went to his home around 4 p.m. on May 5, 2022, and ransacked it. Mr. Ge was arrested when he came back home after work. The police confiscated two printers, numerous Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Mr. Ge was taken to the Beicheng Police Station for interrogation. His case will be processed after the epidemic is over. He was released home on the afternoon of May 6, 2022.

10. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Guo Xiurong Arrested

Ms. Guo Xiurong was arrested on May 26, 2022. The police used the house key they took from her and ransacked her home on the morning of May 26, 2022, while no one was at home. They confiscated anything related to Falun Gong, including a box of Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a desktop calendar, a speaker, a small TV, etc. They also tore the posters from the wall and the door. When Ms. Guo’s family members returned home, they saw the house had been ransacked.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Liu and Lin Arrested

Liu and Lin, both first names and genders unknown, were reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and were taken to the Silian Police Station on the afternoon of May 27, 2022. Lin’s home was ransacked. All the Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. The practitioners were videotaped and photographed in the police station. They refused to cooperate and did not sign the interrogation transcript. They were released around 10 p.m. that evening.

12. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Chun Harassed

Mr. Hu Chun lives in Lijiazhuang Village, Taochun Township of Dingxing County. His home was ransacked by officers from the Dingxing County Police Department on February 23, 2022. They confiscated his Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and his truth clarifying materials. Mr. Hu’s wife was traumatized and has been bedridden for over a month. The police also installed a surveillance camera on a pole near his house to monitor him.

13. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xieqing and Ms. Zhang Ying Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiuqing from the Economic Development District and Ms. Zhang Ying from Zhuzhuang were reported to police for using paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts in a grain and oil store. They were arrested on the afternoon of May 29, 2022. Ms. Zhang Ying was bailed out by village officials because her husband needs her to take care of him. Ms. Liu Xiuqing was taken to the Economic Development District Detention House. Her home was ransacked that evening. Ms. Liu’s husband was summoned and asked where the truth clarifying materials and the related paper bills came from.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Guorong Arrested

Ms. Zhu Guorong from the Shapingba District talked to a delivery man about Falun Gong. The man accepted a Falun Gong keepsake that Ms. Zhu offered him but returned with two police officers around 5 p.m. on May 28, 2022. Ms. Zhu was taken to the Qinjiagang Police Station for interrogation. She did not cooperate. She was placed under 5-day detention to be carried out at home. Her daughter was called to pick her up around 1 a.m. on May 29, 2022.
