School Teacher: “It’s Not Me That’s Good, It’s Falun Dafa That Is Good!”

(Minghui.org) I am a school teacher who has been practicing Falun Dafa for 26 years. As a Falun Dafa cultivator, I adhere to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my everyday life. Dafa has changed me subtly. My soul has been purified and I have become more compassionate. Falun Dafa has brought endless blessings to myself and the people around me.

I would like to share some stories and displays of Master’s infinite grace and compassion to sentient beings.

Parents Experience the Wonders of Falun Dafa

I teach at a relatively good school. Even regular students typically attend tutoring sessions nowadays. Though I used my time meticulously during class and my students often earned good grades, their parents would still send the children to tutoring. Parents feel pressure and sign their children up for these classes during the holidays because everyone around them does the same. It costs at least a couple of thousand yuan for a child to attend a five-subject tutoring class. Most of the parents rely on part-time jobs to support their children. After thinking about the parents’ hardship, I decided to tutor my students to lighten their parents’ burden.

The teacher in charge of the tutoring sessions usually lets each subject teacher determine the tutoring fees, so I’d only charge the parents the cost of renting the classroom. One time, the teacher in charge of the tutoring sessions collected the fees from parents and then distributed the fees to each subject teacher. When I received my share of the tutoring fee, I called each parent and returned half of what they’ve paid. Parents said, “Where else can we find a good teacher like you?”

Some parents said from the bottom of their hearts, “You are truly a good teacher.” I replied, “It’s not me that’s good. It is Falun Dafa that is good!” One of the parents told me that she wants to practice Falun Dafa.

Relatives Experience the Wonders of Falun Dafa

My husband is the second oldest of three brothers. My father-in-law moved into the city to help take care of his third son’s children after my mother-in-law passed away. He then moved in with us a couple of years later when the third son’s children had become more independent. Relatives would come over to my house and reprimand my father-in-law for not being fair to all three of his sons. My husband was the one who supported my father-in-law, but my father-in-law gave his savings to his eldest and helped his youngest son pay for a deposit on an apartment. We were left nothing but with the job of taking care of my father-in-law.

I would smile and let things slide when my relatives brought up the matter. Dafa taught me how to treat others compassionately. I knew that I had to take care of my elderly father-in-law. I did his laundry, bathed him and trimmed his hair. All the daily necessities my father-in-law used were of good quality. When my father-in-law got sick, we did our best and took care of him. We never complained. I’d prepare meals according to my father-in-law’s likes, and at times I’d also eat his leftovers. My father-in-law felt remorseful and said that he owed us a lot. I told him not to think that way since it is the responsibility of the younger generation to take care of the elderly.

My father-in-law often praised me in front our relatives. I’d say, “It is not me that’s good. It is Falun Dafa that is good!” My relatives would say, “Your second daughter-in-law is truly a good person. How could any other daughter-in-law put up with this and treat their father-in-law so kindly!”

Neighbors Experience the Wonders of Falun Dafa

An elderly man in his 70s who had suffered a stroke lived in our apartment building. He would take strolls up and down the stairs every day to exercise his legs. However, he’d always urinate on the steps while walking. I prepared a bucket and mop and would mop away the urine down whenever I saw it. I persisted for a year until the elderly man moved away.

I was cleaning up the urine when an auntie saw me. She thanked me for cleaning it up and praised me. I said, “It is not me that’s good. It’s Falun Dafa that is good!” She said, “Yes! All the Falun Dafa practitioners that I’ve encountered are good, compassionate people.”

While cleaning up a drunk man’s vomit one day, a neighbor saw me and said, “You are truly a good person!” I said, “It is not me that’s good. It’s Falun Dafa that is good!” She kept nodding her head in agreement.

Passersby Experience the Wonders of Falun Dafa

I was selecting cucumbers at a stall one day when I saw another person wanting to buy them, as well. A section of Master’s Fa came to my mind.

Master said,

“...whatever you do or whatever you say, you must consider others” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” Essentials for Further Advancement)

I took a step back and let the person pick his cucumbers first.

The vendor asked, “Why did you stop picking?” I told the vendor that I wanted to let the other person pick first. The vendor looked at me with her eyes wide open, “Really? You are a good person. I’ve never met anyone like you during all these years of selling my vegetables.” I said, “It’s not me that’s good. It’s Falun Dafa that is good!” She replied, “Falun Dafa practitioners never bargain for a cheaper price. They know it’s not easy to run a small business. Falun Dafa practitioners are good people!”

I was walking toward my gated community one day when I saw an elderly woman and a younger lady anxiously waiting by the gate. I briskly walked over and opened the gate with my card and then headed back over to the supermarket. They asked, “Why aren’t you coming in?” I told them that I still needed to go to the supermarket to get some groceries. They were very grateful. I told them to remember “Falun Dafa is good!”

The little things that I’ve experienced and witnessed during the 26 years of my cultivation have led me to take fame and profit lightly. I have become a person with a healthy mind and body. I am able to think for others and conduct myself with compassion. Hundreds of millions of Falun Dafa practitioners worldwide are just like me. They are constantly upgrading themselves through cultivation. Falun Dafa has blessed and protected sentient beings!
