Additional Persecution News from China – April 4, 2022 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Siqin Dies Eight Days After Being Arrested

Ms. Zhang Siqin, 69, was arrested at home on January 19, 2022. She was terrified and was struck with a wave of nausea. Despite the doctor’s advice against her detention after the physical examination, the police refused to provide her with any water and forcibly took Ms. Zhang to the Yaojia Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang’s family received a call from the detention center at 6:00 a.m. on January 27, 2022, saying that she had passed away.

2. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Xu Zhengfen Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Xu Zhengfen was arrested on the afternoon of June 26, 2021. He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in March 2022.

3. [Beijing] Case Against Ms. Li Xiuying Brought to Court

The case against Ms. Li Xiuying was brought to the Xicheng District Court.

4. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Cases Against Ms. Xin Xiangfen and Mr. Wu Chunnian Submitted to Procuratorate

Mr. Wu Chunnian and Ms. Xin Xiangfen were arrested in September 2021 because of their faith in Falun Gong. They were placed under residential surveillance for six months. On March 23, 2022, the Xiangdu District Procuratorate called and demanded they go to the procuratorate the next day. When Mr. Wu and Ms. Xin went there on March 24, 2022, officer Cheng Cuizhu told them to plead guilty. They both refused.

5. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Yang Jinhan Harassed

Liu Yang and Ren Zhiwei from the Zhangcun Police Station in Hui County harassed Mr. Yang Jinhan on April 3, 2022, at his home in the Chaizhuang Community. They photographed him and tore off the couplet which contained information about Falun Gong from his door.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Guo Meiying Harassed

On March 4, 2012, Ms. Guo Meiying was interviewed by officers from the Niujie community committee and the local police station in Xicheng District. They threatened that Ms. Guo’s children and grandchildren would be affected if she did not renounce her faith in Falun Gong. Ms. Guo told them how she benefited from the practice and refused to sign the statement renouncing Falun Gong. Ms. Guo felt unwell while she was questioned, and her blood pressure was over 200. She was released later that day.

7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yue Shuxia and Ms. Li Xiurong Arrested

Ms. Yue Shuxia and Ms. Li Xiurong, from the Yuanbaoshan District, were arrested on March 31, 2022. They returned home that night.

8. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division and the Gusheng Police Station arrested Mr. Xu Qinghai, Ms. Xu Wenting, and Ms. Shen Ying on April 1, 2022.

9. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Min Repeatedly Harassed

Director Li Gang of the Huangjiasi Community Office in the Gaoxin District called Ms. Yang Min three times on March 28, 2022, asking her to go to the property management office because the police wanted to see her. She refused. They then went to Ms. Yang’s home and harassed her.

10. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Case Against Mr. Luo Banglin Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Luo Banglin, 30, was arrested and held in the Yanbian County Detention Center. The Miyi County Police Department issued an arrest warrant for his wife, Ms. Hong Chuyan, on March 30, 2022. The case against him was in the process of being turned over to the Procuratorate.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hong’s Appeal Filed

On March 30, 2022, Judge Chen of the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate Court informed Ms. Li Hong that her appeal letter to the National People’s Congress was now being handled according to the legal process. The court received her appeal and filed the case on January 4, 2022.
