Additional Persecution News from China – March 20, 2022 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wei Guoshen was imprisoned in the Jidong Prison and Ms. Wang Xiuhong in the Heibei Women’s Prison on January 22, 2022.

Mr. Qiu Ruiwang was detained for more than one year in the Zunhua Detention Center and was released in the second half of 2021.

2. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Guo Yongfeng Arrested

There has not been any news about Ms. Guo Yongfeng since she was arrested 20 days ago.

3. [Honghu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Fangqiong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Tang Fangqiong was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and was arrested on the morning of March 15, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was transferred to the Jianli Detention Center in Hubei Province.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Lang Dongyue Arrested

Ms. Lang Dongyue from the Yanqing District was arrested in Huailai County.

5. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Zhurong and Mr. Zhong Liancong Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhurong and Mr. Zhong Liancong were videotaped when they hung up truth-banners which had information about Falun Gong and were reported to police. They were arrested by officers from the Guangchang Police Station on the afternoon of March 16, 2022 and were released later that evening.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chenying Arrested

Ms. Li Chenying from the Dalian Bay District was reported to police when she distributed information about Falun Gong in Lugang Town. She was arrested by officers from the Bianfang Police Station at around 9 a.m. on March 17, 2022. She was later released.

7. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] 12 Practitioners Imprisoned

More than 22 practitioners and two practitioners’ family members were arrested during a group arrest in Nong’an County on July 15, 2020. Thirteen of them were later tried in court and were given prison sentences ranging from two to ten years.

Ms. Sun Fengxian, 65, was sentenced to 2 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She died on December 15, 2021.

Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, 65, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison in December 2021.

Ms. Gao Xiaoqi, 57, was sentenced to 9 years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison on January 24, 2022.

Ms. Cai Yuying, 67, was sentenced to 9 years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison on January 24, 2022.

Ms. Wu Dongmei, 50, was sentenced to 7 years in prison. She is currently detained in the Jilin Women's Prison.

Ms. Yu Jiaoru, 35, was sentenced to 6 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison on January 24, 2022.

Mr. Shan Weihe, 56, was sentenced to 6 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. He was taken to the Gongzhuling Prison on January 6, 2022.

Ms. Zhao Xiulan, 68, was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison on January 24, 2022.

Ms. Sun Xiuying, 69, was sentenced to 4 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She was taken to the Jilin Women's Prison on January 24, 2022.

Mr. Zhang Jingyuan, 49, was sentenced to 2 years in prison and fined 5000 yuan. He was taken to the Gongzhuling Prison on January 6, 2022.

Mr. Feng Liqi, was sentenced to 9 years in prison. He is currently detained in the Jilin Prison.

Mr. Lu Xiangfu, was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He is currently detained in the Jilin Prison.

Ms. Dong Xiuhui, one and a half years in prison.

Those who are detained in the Jilian Women’s Prison have not been allowed to be visited until now.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Jingli Imprisoned

Ms. Wang Jingli, 57, was taken to the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison on February 18, 2022. She was arrested on February 20, 2020 and sentenced to three years by the Daoli District Court on December 23, 2021.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Lijuan's Appeal Rejected

Ms. Sun Lijuan was sentenced to five years and fined 10,000 yuan on November 29, 2021 for posting information about Falun Gong on WeChat. She appealed to the Jinzhou City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original sentence in January 2022.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Ruijun Taken to Shandong Province Women's Prison

Ms. Zhang Ruijun, in her 50s, has been taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison in March 2022 to serve 3 and a half years. She was arrested on March 19, 2020 and was sentenced by the Boshan District Court on June 23, 2021. She appealed against the verdict, but her appeal was rejected by the higher court.

Because Ms. Zhang appeared haggard with slow reaction and had difficulty walking during the hearings, her family, who are not allowed to visit her, are very worried about her situation in the prison.

11. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Imprisoned

Mr. Zhang Peng, 36, Mr. Wang Yuchao, 27, Mr. Zang Jinda, and Mr. Ma Haipeng have been taken to the Weinan Prison to serve time. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to 9 years and the other three practitioners were given sentences ranging from 5 to 9 years. They were arrested between June and August 2019 for distributing information about Falun Gong.

12. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Song Zhi Taken to Prison

Mr. Song Zhi, 48, was taken to the Weinan Prison on February 28, 2022 to serve a 4 and a half year term. He was arrested on September 28, 2019 and was sentenced by the Yanta District Court on July 12, 2021.
