(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. A year-and-a-half after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999, my family and I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice our belief on January 19, 2001. We were detained.

I was later sent to a brainwashing center in March 2001 where I was tortured for three months. They tried to force me to give up my belief, but to no avail.

At that time, my company demoted me from my position as the deputy section lead and reduced my pay to only 320 yuan (or $50.61) per month, which was further deducted to pay the 10,000-yuan fine that the 610 Office slapped my workplace with. My wife was also fired from her company.

The 610 Office is a secretive agency established on June 10, 1999, to specifically carry out former CCP leader Jiang Zemin’s orders to “ruin Falun Dafa practitioners’ reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.”

Personnel from the 610 Office came to my workplace to arrest me in 2002, but I was able to escape. I had to, however, leave home to avoid arrest and further persecution. My company then took that opportunity to fire me (to avoid being implicated).

I was later reported to the authorities in September 2002 for distributing informational materials about the persecution and was arrested. I was eventually sentenced to eight years in prison.

Improving Myself and Becoming Less Selfish

I was released in 2008 only because I was near death from being tortured in prison. I then learned that my wife had left home seven years earlier to avoid persecution by the CCP and that our family had no source of income.

At home, I was able to do the Falun Dafa exercises and study the teachings again. I made a full recovery after some time. In order to make a living, I returned to my former company as a temporary worker in early 2009.

Almost everyone there had been deeply poisoned by the CCP’s propaganda and had a strong misunderstanding of Dafa. I felt a lot of pressure when I first went back to work. As a practitioner, I should show the beauty of Falun Dafa and let people know the true situation of the CCP. It was not going to be an easy task.

Master said,

“Then, as a cultivator, you should make use of all feasible conditions to spread Dafa and validate Dafa as a correct and true science, rather than preaching or idealism—this is every cultivator’s obligation.” (“Validation” Essentials for Further Advancement)

“All those who don’t understand us, and those who attack us, have the same comment: ‘You have done that well? It’s not possible.’ That is to say, they don’t believe that there are still good people in this world. Well then, let’s show them with our actions!” (Teachings at the Conference in Canada)

Master’s teachings, or Fa, gave me confidence and strength. I was determined to follow His teachings and use the wisdom bestowed by Dafa to improve the situation at work, validate the practice, and save sentient beings.

I adjusted my thinking and used all my spare time to study the Fa. I cultivated my moral character, let go of self, and tried not to be affected by personal gains, losses, and the insults hurled at me. I treated everyone kindly, was considerate, and always put others first.

My company mainly installs and maintains new electrical transmission plants and systems. I used to be one of the main go-to people before the persecution began. The equipment and technology had been upgraded during the seven years that I was away, so I was no longer up to speed with how everything worked.

What should I do? I patiently learned what I needed to by asking questions and really taking the time to study. It took me a little over two years to master all the new technology and know how the new equipment functioned.

I was able to independently install and use the secondary electrical equipment by myself. From then on, I became responsible for all the secondary equipment jobs. I eventually won the trust of my team lead and colleagues.

I am always careful and meticulous in my work and I have not had a problem with the equipment that I work on. Everything works on the first attempt.

During work, I always think of others first and take their concerns as my own. No matter how hard the job is or how tired I am, I am always cheerful.

Whenever there was a problem with the electrical equipment in the other departments, and if I am asked to help, I would do it wholeheartedly, becoming a volunteer maintenance worker.

When my colleagues had problems with their electrical appliances at home, I would make time to help repair it for them if they asked for my help. My actions and conduct earned the upper managers’ and coworkers’ trust and praise. Their negative attitude changed little by little.

I also took the opportunity to talk to my colleagues about Falun Dafa and the persecution and asked them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Master said,

“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun

With Master’s help, more than 90 percent of my colleagues withdrew from the CCP.

Calmly Resolving Difficult Issues

Our team received the challenging task of installing a 35kV transformer substation in August 2014. The government was in charge of the project and made all the decisions although they had no knowledge of this field.

They gave us only 20 days to complete the whole project with electricity delivered on that day. There was no room for negotiation. A project of this scale normally takes at least 40 days to complete.

On the first day of construction, both the executive of the company and the director of our department went to the project site. They were worried because they knew how difficult it would be to complete the task in such a short period of time.

Even the team lead, who has been working in this field for most of his life, said it would be difficult to complete in the short time frame we were given.

“For the primary equipment, it may be doable if we add more people and everyone works overtime,” he told the executive and the director. “However, for the secondary equipment, even if we add more people, it may still not be enough because we don’t have many people who have mastered the technologies.”

He then told them to ask for my opinion. After thinking about it, I said, “To be honest, with the existing manpower, it will be very difficult to complete this work. However, it is not completely impossible if we arrange the work well. Don’t worry, I will try my best to complete the secondary equipment installation within the schedule.”

Everyone on the project was on the same page and worked hard together. Everyone came to work early and stayed late. As a result, the project was finished in 19 days.

On the 20th day, the electricity was successfully delivered, which won the trust and affirmation of the government official who was in charge of the project.

Soon after the completion of this project, another more challenging one arrived. It was for the installation of a 35kV transformer substation in a chemical plant and the government was also in charge.

The amount of equipment to be installed was double the previous project and the construction period was even shorter—it had to be completed with the delivery of electricity within 15 days!

We felt it was impossible to complete the project in such a short time, but with no room for negotiation with the government, we could only get it done. The company brought in all the workers, machinery, and other equipment.

The hardest part to resolve was still the installation of the secondary equipment. I went to the construction site and found that they couldn’t even provide us any construction drawings. When I asked for the drawings, the on-site engineer from the designing team said that they did not know how to draw them, so they could not provide them.

The executives from the chemical plant, my company, and the government were all at a loss on what to do. They asked our team lead and he replied, “There is nothing I can do.”

They pressured the team lead to find a solution, so he came to ask me for help. I immediately said, “Don’t worry. Give me all the relevant drawings, and I will go back to the office to finish the preparations for the construction in the shortest time. I’ll try not to delay the start of the installation day.”

Everyone felt relieved. I spent the next day and a half doing all the preparatory work that ensured the normal progress of the installation.

We all worked tirelessly and found the quickest solution possible. In order to help with the schedule, the leaders from the chemical plant fully cooperated and arranged to deliver lunches to the construction site. Everyone worked hard with no rest except to eat lunch.

We were able to do the impossible and successfully completed the installation a day earlier than the 15-day deadline. The top people at my company were so happy that they ordered a celebration banquet for the whole team. It was the first time that they had ever done something like that.

Protection from Persecution

Through the successful completion of the two challenging projects, everyone at my workplace completely changed their views on Falun Dafa and its practitioners, and my work environment improved greatly.

In December 2015, practitioners in my area and I filed a lawsuit—using our real names—against Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Dafa. Many of the practitioners were arrested by the 610 Office and detained for 10 days as a result.

One day, the local police station, the domestic security, and the 610 Office each sent one of their employees to try to arrest me at work. I was out at lunch at that time and was not in the building.

The team lead called the department director and told him about the situation. The director then called the general manager and the two men rushed to the company. With their help and protection, the police and 610 Office staff were not able to arrest me and left.

They attempted to harass me many times thereafter, but were blocked by the leaders of my company every time. Through these incidents, everyone at my workplace saw the evil nature of the CCP more clearly, further awakening them to the truth.

I am still far away from Master’s requirements for practitioners. The process of Fa-rectification is near. I will cultivate more diligently and live up to Master’s compassionate salvation!
