(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Deng Qinghui Imprisoned

Ms. Deng Qinghui, who has a barber shop in her home, was arrested by officers from the Chaoyang Police Station on May 13, 2021, and the home was ransacked. Ms. Deng was taken to the Hunan Province Women’s Prison on February 12, 2022.

2. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yongqin Imprisoned

Ms. Sun Yongqin was taken to the Jinan Prison on January 4, 2022. Her family received a notice from the prison on January 18, 2022.

3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Case Against Mr. Yang Jianwei Submitted to the Court

The case against Mr. Yang Jianwei was recently submitted to the court. People from the 610 Office tried to trick Mr. Yang into confessing, and claimed that the sentence would be reduced if he pleaded guilty.

4. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Yuehua and Ms. Yu Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuehua, 69, and Ms. Yu, 73, were arrested by officers from the Laozhanjie Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on Laozhan Street on February 13, 2022. Their homes were ransacked in the afternoon. The police confiscated more than 150,000 yuan in cash from Ms. Liu Yuehua’s home as well as many personal belongings including a computer and printer. Ms. Liu’s husband had a stroke and needs his wife to take care of him. Ms. Yu’s son also had a stroke, is unable to work, and also needs his mother’s care.

5. [Anhui Province] Case Against Ms. Liu Jinping Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Liu Jinping, 68, was subjected to two years of forced labor in 2004 in the Hefei Women’s Forced Labor Camp. She was subjected to three years of forced labor again in 2012 for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Liu was seen distributing the truth-clarifying materials via a surveillance camera in 2021. She was arrested and held for 15 days in the Liuan Detention House. The case against her was submitted to the Huoshan Procuratorate.

6. [Jianli City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Jiang Arrested

Ms. Xu Jiang was arrested along with Ms. Liu Liping for talking to people about Falun Gong in Zhemu Township in June 2021. Ms. Xu was released due to her high blood pressure. Ms. Liu has been detained since then.

Ms. Xu Jiang stayed away from home to avoid constant harassment. She returned home for Chinese New Year. Twelve people from the local police station and her former workplace went to her home at around 11 p.m. on February 11, 2022. They searched and video-recorded in her home. Ms. Xu was taken away. It is unknown where she is currently being detained.

7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xiao Shuyun Arrested

Ms. Xiao Shuyun was arrested by police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Beishan Park on the afternoon of February 7, 2022.

8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fang Zongjuan Harassed

Ms. Fang Zongjuan lives in Dazhuan Village, Gaotuan Town, Fushan District. Village officer Wang Zhengcheng led some officers from the town police station to Ms. Fang’s home on February 11, 2022. They pressured her to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. They called her daughter and her son-in-law back. Her daughter is a civil servant and will be implicated if her mother refuses to cooperate. Her son-in-law eventually signed the guarantee statement on Ms. Fang’s behalf.

9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Lihua Detained

Ms. Sun Lihua was summoned to the Tiedong Police Department to go through the procedure to release her from residential surveillance on January 19, 2022. She has been detained since then.

10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pu Xingchi Arrested

It was recently learned that Ms. Pu Xingchi from Qiaoxi District was arrested around January 27, 2022. She was harassed by officers from the Qiaoxi Police Department before her arrest.

11. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Gao Hui Arrested and Detained

Ms. Gao Hui, 51, was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in a residential community in Kaifu District on January 10, 2022. She was detained for three days in the local police station and then ten days in the Changsha City Detention House.

12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Zengjian Arrested and Detained

Led by Shi Wei, deputy from the Duozhuang Town Party Committee, police officers and village officials went to Mr. Wu Zengjian’s home at around noon on February 9, 2022. They ransacked the home and confiscated personal belongings including Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, a satellite receiver, cell phone, etc. Mr. Wu was taken to the town police station for interrogation, and released later that day. The police returned the next morning however, and took Mr. Wu to the Mengyin Detention House.

13. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yanyu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Yanyu is from Linjiang City, Jilin Province. Because she was found to have truth-clarifying materials and photos of Falun Gong’s founder in her luggage in the Shanghai Railway Station on April 12, 2021, she was held for one month in the Puduo District Detention House. She was released on May 12, 2021.

Another practitioner, Ms. Wu Yuqin, from Shanghai, arranged for Ms. Wang to work as a housekeeper in practitioner Wu Xiaojie’s home. Ms. Wang was tracked by the police. They followed her to Wu’s home and confiscated all the Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang Yanyu and Ms. Wu Yuqin were arrested and detained for 25 days. Ms. Wang was released on July 23, 2021.
