(Minghui.org) On New Year’s Day several years ago, there were a lot of people in the supermarkets and out on the streets. An elderly woman named Han seized the opportunity to let people know about the communist regime’s persecution of her faith, Falun Gong.
Han spoke to two students around 16 years old outside of a supermarket. They appeared receptive to what she said. One of the teenagers grabbed her hand and said, “Granny, now that we are saved, we have two best friends who do not know the truth yet. I will call them to come over. Will you talk them, too?” Han agreed.
A few minutes later, a police car drove up and two officers got out.
One student pointed to Han, “She practices Falun Gong. You said we would get a reward for reporting a Falun Gong person. Where is our money?”
One of the officers barked at the student, “Go away! Why would you do such a wicked thing?” The two students ran away. Han felt sorry for them. She knew that they must have heard the propaganda that slandered Falun Gong at school and were told to report anyone that practiced it.
The officer who’d admonished the teen asked Han to come with them. Han clarified the facts about Falun Gong all the way to the police station.
“I came here to take care of my grandchild. The pandemic is raging all over the world. Everyone is afraid. I would like to offer a way to help people protect their future.”
The officer said, “We all know that Falun Gong practitioners are good people and do what they do for the benefit of others. But there will be people who do not believe what you say. It’s New Year’s. Call and ask your family to come to pick you up.”
Han’s daughter came to pick her up in a few minutes.
“Go home and take good care of your grandchild.” the police said to her as she left.
