Letting Every Household in the Village Know Just How Wonderful Falun Dafa Is

(Minghui.org) There are more than 100 households in our village, and more than a third of the families display truth-clarifying couplets for the Chinese New Year. In one family, the husband, a former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) member, withdrew from the Party, and his wife posts the couplets every year. She told me that she really liked the words.

When former CCP leader Jiang Zemin started the persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999, it was difficult. When people asked me if I still practiced Falun Dafa, I said firmly, “Yes, of course. Master is honorable and Falun Dafa is so good. I’ve learned so many amazing things and I recovered from my health problems. Why would I stop practicing? Besides, the CCP is lying about Dafa and Master.” I was the only person in our village who continued practicing Dafa.

I had a wish at that time to let everyone in my village know just how wonderful Falun Dafa is so they could benefit from it. Master helped me. It really was just as Master said, “You put in the effort and your teacher will handle the rest.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)

It’s easier said than done, however. I couldn’t talk to anyone about Falun Dafa. When the persecution started, I hadn’t studied the Fa thoroughly. All I had was my firm belief in Dafa and Master.

I was sentenced to three years in prison in 2002 for putting up truth-clarifying stickers and held in a prison in Jinan City. After I was released, everyone in the village looked at me strangely. My husband was against my practicing Falun Dafa. He suffered a lot while I was imprisoned. He was a bricklayer who worked hard all day and then had to cook and take care of our house by himself.

Despite the pressure from society and my family, I persisted in my belief and continued to do the three things Master has asked us to do to fulfill our mission. In order to eliminate the influence of the CCP’s lies about Falun Dafa and change people’s attitudes, I studied the Fa, kept looking inward, talked to people about Dafa, and distributed Dafa informational materials. Everything went well with Master’s help and protection.

Village CCP Secretary Renounces His Membership

The former secretary of the Party committee in my village had been a CCP member for more than 50 years. He was the village secretary for 40 years, so everyone knew him. He knew that Falun Dafa was good, but his wife stopped practicing out of fear when the persecution began. I sometimes visited him and suggested he protect villagers like me, since he was the head of the village.

When the town government official asked him if there were any Falun Dafa practitioners in our village, he told them that no one practiced Falun Dafa anymore although some did before. Since then, no one has come to check on me.

Although he knew Dafa was good, he didn’t want to withdraw from the CCP. The main reason was that he didn’t want to lose his power. I tried to talk to him about this more than 20 times. Since he protected me and acknowledged Dafa, I wanted to save him. In 2017, two years before he stepped down from his position as village Party secretary, he agreed to quit the CCP along with more than 10 of his family members.

Advising People Not to Persecute Practitioners

I usually go out late in the evenings to distribute truth-clarifying materials, because the dogs bark if I go earlier. Once, after I’d almost finished distributing the materials I had with me, I put a brochure through a gate that was slightly open. I heard someone in the house quickly walk outside. I hid in the shadows for a while and then started to walk home when I realized a man was following me. I turned around and said, “Hi, it’s just me. Why are you following me?” He responded, “If it wasn’t you, I would not let have that person out of our village.”

On the way home I thought that I must not have done a good enough job helping people understand the truth. The next morning I got some materials and went back to that house. I talked to the couple for a long time and advised the man not to do anything to harm practitioners, that that would only harm himself and his family. They understood and agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its youth organizations.

Due to my ongoing efforts, everyone in my village now knows that Falun Dafa is good. For example, all the village officials have agreed to withdraw from the CCP. More than a third of the households out of over 100 in the village hang the truth-clarifying couplets outside their doors.

A few years ago one of my neighbors told me a story. When her sister and brother-in-law visited her and saw that so many families hung truth-clarifying couplets on their doors, they thought there were many Falun Dafa practitioners in the village. They were really surprised to hear that there was only one. When another villager’s son came home for the Chinese New Year and saw so many couplets throughout the village, he laughed and said, “Wow! So many families put up the Falun Dafa couplets!”

It has become a village tradition to hang them, and some families wait for me to give them the couplets. One year I missed a family since no one was at home when I stopped by. That family later complained that they didn’t receive one!

Besides the couplets, the truth-clarifying calendars are also very popular. I go where many people work and everyone wants the new calendar. Sometimes I stop at the village canteen where people gather to play mahjong or chat. I ask them to read what's in the calendar when I distribute them. They all say they will.

I used to suffer from many health problems, but after I began practicing Falun Dafa I became very healthy. The villagers all admire me and say that I am a living example of how wonderful Falun Dafa is.

Master’s words encourage me to do better. I often look inward and correct myself quickly if something is wrong. I know I must live up to Master’s encouragement and expectations.
