Ireland: Rally Held to Celebrate 400 Million Withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally in central Dublin, the capital of Ireland, on October 1, 2022 to celebrate 400 million Chinese citizens who have renounced their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Practitioners also called on people to help end the 23-year-long brutal persecution of Falun Dafa by the CCP. The event drew support from both Western as well as Chinese people.

Messages such as, “Support the 400 Million Chinese People Who Have Quit the CCP,” “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong,” and “Falun Dafa is Great” were included on banners and display boards, drawing the attention of many tourists and Dubliners. Some people remarked that they were hearing of the brutal suppression for the first time and were shocked as well as anguished. Others expressed their respect and support for practitioners after learning the facts. A number of Chinese nationals decided to withdraw from the CCP after understanding the truth about the persecution.

400 Million Withdrawals Is a Milestone

Ms. Liu, spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association of Ireland, addressed the rally. “400 million Chinese people have already quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations,” she said. “This is a milestone.”

“The CCP is not China and it does not represent the Chinese people. On the contrary, 1.4 billion Chinese nationals are currently victims of the regime’s persecution. Since the CCP came into power 70 years ago, countless Chinese people have suffered from endless deceit and brutality. The CCP’s infiltration into Western countries has affected everyone all over the world, destroying universal values. The whole world should stand up to reject the CCP and oppose its evil ways and finally end its tyranny,” Ms. Liu said.

Another Ms. Liu, spokesperson for the Quit the CCP Service Center – Ireland branch, also spoke at the rally. She said, “More and more Chinese people are awakening. Today, 400 million people’s moral values and courage have brought new hope to Chinese society.” At the end of her speech, she made an appeal: “Those who have not quit the CCP, make a choice quickly and choose a good future for yourself.”

Chinese People Understand the Truth and Quit the CCP

A Chinese couple who moved to America many years ago stopped to watch the rally. The husband, Mr. Zhang, said they'd visited many countries and saw Falun Dafa practitioners everywhere. He said, “Falun Dafa is truly remarkable!”

He explained that he and his family moved to the U.S. 20 years ago, and he found it ridiculous every time his friends or relatives passed on news reports broadcast in China. He said he tells them that because the media in China is controlled by the CCP, people in China can only see filtered, fake news. The Internet firewall erected by the CCP cuts out all true news from the outside world so that it can fabricate fake news and deceive ordinary citizens. Mr. Zhang said, “The CCP lies to the Chinese people every day.”

Regarding quitting the CCP, Mr. Zhang’s wife said she joined the Party when she was in China and did not think too much of it then. Mr. Zhang said he joined the Young Pioneers. When practitioners told them the rally was held to celebrate 400 million withdrawals from the Party, and asked if they would like to quit the CCP as well, they both agreed to quit the Party.

Many students from China also saw the rally. They said it was the first time they’d seen a rally held by Falun Dafa practitioners. Many of these young people took photos and video recordings with their mobile phones. Some were astounded after reading the information displayed, while others stopped to chat with practitioners and learn more.

A young man who recently came to Ireland from China to study asked many questions, such as whether the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident was true. Practitioners explained that Falun Dafa is a high-level cultivation way of the Buddha school and the teachings forbid adherents from killing others or themselves. Committing suicide is considered a sin. Practitioners also encouraged him to read Falun Dafa’s books which can be downloaded for free from the Falundafa.org website. The student realized that he’d been deceived by the CCP’s propaganda and agreed to quit the CCP using an alias.

People Support Practitioners in Resisting the Persecution

Allegra from Italy came to Ireland this year as an exchange student. After listening to practitioners explain the facts of the persecution, she realized that the regime was oppressing a peaceful group of people. She then brought her younger sister and three friends to the rally and told them about the atrocities in China. Without hesitation, the five of them signed the petition supporting an end to the persecution.

A student from Japan said he admired practitioners for exposing the crimes against humanity and having the courage to persist in opposing the unjust treatment. He said he was concerned for their safety even though they are not in China. “The CCP’s spies are everywhere,” he said, and they have people monitoring dissidents all over the world. He said he once read information on the subject online and learned that this persecution of Falun Dafa was launched by former president Jiang Zemin. He hopes that by signing the petition he will help stop the persecution.

Roselyn from Scotland saw the banners and approached practitioners to express her support. She repeatedly told practitioners, “You are doing great. I totally support you!” She said she was aware of what is happening in China and had previously signed a petition to call on the CCP to stop the forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience.

Andreasen a Danish scholar, and his daughter passed by the rally. He told practitioners that he once wrote a thesis about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. His thesis was published in an encyclopedia. He said he is very supportive of Falun Dafa.

People Learn the Falun Dafa Exercises at the Rally

When practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, several people said they felt an energy field.

A young woman who’d just heard of Falun Dafa for the first time did the second exercise with practitioners out of curiosity and said she could feel a strong energy.

After this young woman did the second exercise, she said she felt tremendous energy.

Ashley, who lives in a small town in Ireland, said that 20 years ago she once tried the five Falun Dafa exercises during a class. As she watched practitioners do the gentle, peaceful exercises, Ashley remarked that she felt the energy in these simple movements. She said she hopes to start learning the exercises very soon.
