Additional Persecution News from China – October 8, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jianzhong and His Wife Ms. Li Fengxian Arrested

Mr. Wang Jianzhong, and his wife Ms. Li Fengxian, from Hongshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, helped to take care of their grandchild at their daughter’s home in Jinan City, Shandong Province.

In August 2022, Ms. Li went back alone to her hometown in Chifeng City to visit relatives. She was arrested when she clarified the truth. She was held in a detention center in Chifeng City for four days.

Around August 25, Ms. Li returned to Jinan City and was arrested by the local police at the Jinan Railway Station. At the same time, another group of police arrested Ms. Li’s husband Mr. Wang at the couple’s residence in Jinan City and ransacked the place. The couple are being held in a detention center in Jinan City.

2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Lu Jingyuan and several other practitioners were arrested at the same time at the end of September 2022.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lei Yanxia Missing for Over a Month

Ms. Lei Yanxia, nearly 70 years old, lives alone in Qiaokou District. She has been missing for over a month.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Arrested

A group of people from the Beijing Municipal Domestic Security Division, the Pinggu District Domestic Security Division, and the Nandulehe Police Station arrested Mr. Liu Yaping in his hometown, Zhushui Village, Shandongzhuang Town, on October 5, 2022. They ransacked his home and confiscated some personal items. It was reported that a few days earlier, Mr. Liu was caught on security cameras posting Falun Gong informational stickers. The police tracked him down and followed him.

5. [Chongqing] Numerous Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Before October 1, 2022, officers from several police stations and members of neighborhood committees in Shapingba District harassed area practitioners at their homes.

Local police officers and members of the Xinhua Village Neighborhood Committee of Chongqing University went to the home of Ms. Tong Siqun, who is in her 80s. They took the Falun Gong books they saw in her room. The officers took Ms. Tong to the police station for interrogation. She was photographed and fingerprinted repeatedly before her daughter arrived and took her home. Ms. Tong and her family are now stressed out and frightened. Ms. Tong is afraid to stay at home alone. She wanted to live in her daughter’s home, but her daughter and her family refuse to let her.

The other practitioners who were harassed are surnamed Shen, Chen, and Jiang. Their homes were ransacked.

Practitioners Wang, Fu, Xu, Zhang, and others have been harassed numerous times in their homes. As soon as the practitioners open their doors, the officers and community office personnel start taking photos. Some authorities forced their way into the practitioners’ homes.

6. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Dong Guirong Arrested

Dong Guirong and her daughter Ms. Li Yang were arrested by officers from the Qingnian Road Police Station in Zhongmu County, Zhengzhou City, while they were talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials in Zhengzhou City on the afternoon of July 6, 2022.

Ms. Dong returned home after being held at the Zhongmu County Detention Center for 15 days. Her daughter Ms. Li was held at the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center. Further details are pending.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shangliang and Ms. Zhang Huanying Harassed

Three officers from the Woluogu Town Police Station harassed Mr. Liu Shangliang in Jiayanzhuang Village at 3 p.m. on September 20, 2022. They photographed him and asked if he still practiced Falun Gong.

Around September 20, Ms. Zhang Huanying in Hutouzhuang Village, Woluogu Town, Yutian County, was having dinner when three officers broke into her home and asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. They also photographed her without permission when they entered her house.

8. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Haixiong Harassed

Director Huang of the Fuda Police Station in Mei County and an officer went to Mr. Liu Haixiong’s home in Sankui Village on the morning of September 15, 2022. They asked if he still practiced Falun Gong, and they also made a video recording.

9. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed

On October 16 and 18, 2022, officers from the Jianguo Town Police Station harassed several practitioners and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They broke into a practitioner’s home, when no one was there, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books.

10. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Huijuan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Huijuan was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station in the Xinfu District around 3 p.m. on October 7, 2022. Details are pending.
