Additional Persecution News from China – October 16, 2022 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhou Ying and Practitioner Ji Arrested

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin Harassed 

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhou Ying and Practitioner Ji Arrested

Ms. Zhou Ying and Ji were arrested by two officers from the Taijiahe Police Station on October 3, 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Fourteen officers ransacked their homes later that day. They confiscated Falun Gong books from Ji’s home. Ms. Zhou was fined 1000 yuan and was released in the evening. Ji was taken to the Kunming City Detention Center.

2. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Huang Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Huang Guiqin lives in Taitou Township, Wei County, Handan City. She was arrested in Zhengzhou City on the evening of October 14, 2022.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six female practitioners from Qingshan District including Ms. Liu and Ms. Deng were arrested on September 26, 2022. Their homes were ransacked.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Caile Harassed

Two officers from the Chengxi Police Station in Xindu District went to Ms. Xie Caile’s home on September 20, 2022. After Ms. Xie refused to sign the guarantee statement, they called twelve people to come including Yin Shunyao, head of the Xinjin Brainwashing Center and Chen from the Xindu District Police Department. They took Ms. Xie to the Tianxin Village Office and held her there until 9:30 p.m. They collected Ms. Xie’s fingerprints by forcefully holding her hand.

5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Yu Ping Harassed

Two officers went to Yu Ping’s home on the afternoon of October 13, 2022. They photographed around and questioned whether Yu Ping still practiced Falun Gong.

6. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Hongxia Harassed

Two officers from the Zhanqian Police Station in Linkou County went to Ms. Wang Hongxia’s home on September 19, 2022. They videotaped around with their body cameras. Ms. Wang tried to clarify the truth about the persecution to them.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Li Harassed

Ms. Yang Li lives in Sihe Community, Tianfu New District, Chengdu City. Four people including local community director Li and Liu Li from the Chengdu City Politic and Legal Affairs Committee went to Ms. Yang’s home at the end of September 2022. They pressured Ms. Yang to sign a guarantee statement, which Ms. Yang refused. They threatened her and said that her granddaughter would be implicated and her future employment and civil service exam would be affected.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin Harassed 

Officer Li Junping from the Shuanglong Police Station called Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin’s husband on August 30, 2022. They wanted to come to Ms. Zheng’s home, which her husband refused.

Tong, head of the Chengnan Bank Branch, told Ms. Zheng on the afternoon of September 13, 2022 that four people including Wang Chao, head of the discipline department, would talk to her after work. Ms. Zheng refused to cooperate. 

Ms. Zheng was taken to the Tongmao Community Office in the Lianglu Sub-district, Yubei District on the morning of September 29, 2022. Five men were there and pressured her to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. Ms. Zheng refused.
