Additional Persecution News from China – October 14, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 72 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] The Case Against Gong Pirong Submitted to the Procuratorate

Gong Pirong was arrested and was detained in the Linyi City Detention Center for nearly three months. The case has been submitted to the procuratorate.

2. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Wang Yuanlin Detained

Wang Yuanlin was arrested in Pingdingshan City at the end of July 2022 and was taken back to Wang’s hometown in the Xihai’an New District of Qingdao City at the end of September 2022.

3. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Miao Zhongjun Detained

Mr. Miao Zhongjun, 65, was placed under official arrest by the Xincheng District Procuratorate on July 25, 2022. He is being detained in the Xincheng District Detention Center.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lou Amei Persecuted

Ms. Lou Amei was sentenced to three years in prison in November 2015 and was released in November 2018. Her pension was withheld for three years.

Ms. Lou brought a lawsuit against the social security center in 2019. It was rejected by the Heping District Court. The court hearing was held in the Railway Transportation Court in December 2021 but the case was dismissed. Ms. Lou appealed to the Railway Transportation Intermediate Court and the case was filed in August 2022. The hearing is scheduled in the Railway Transportation Intermediate Court at 9 a.m. on October 17, 2022.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Chunfeng Monitored and Followed

Ms. Xia Chunfeng was harassed at home by two officers including Cui, head of the local police station on October 5, 2022. Two persons watched her home at midnight that day. When Ms. Xia went out, two or three people closely followed her within two meters. One of them rode an e-bike.

6. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Hebei Street Police Station went to Mr. Wang Zhiwen’s home on the morning of August 21, 2022. They ransacked it and confiscated many personal belongings including a computer, printer, Falun Gong books, two e-bikes, etc. Mr. Wang was taken to the police station.

Mr. Wang Aiguo and Mr. Sun Feng were arrested later when they went to Mr. Wang Zhiwen’s home, which was under surveillance. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two media players, and an e-bike from Mr. Wang Aiguo’s home.

Three practitioners were interrogated in the police station. Mr. Sun managed to escape that night. Mr. Wang Zhiwen and Mr. Wang Aiguo were each fined 2,000 yuan and released on bail pending trial the next day.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Harassed or Arrested

Tan Guiying was previously sentenced to six years in prison. She was arrested again by officers from the Xinhua Township Police Station in the Acheng District in July 2022 and has been detained in the No.2 Detention Center since then.

Officers from the Xinhua Township Police Station harassed practitioners Fan Yurong, Qi Jinling and Sun Shuangsong.

Two officers went to Ms. Li Hua’s home in the Jianshe Village around October 1, 2022. She was not at home. Her husband was pressured to get his wife to return home, which he refused. Ms. Li Hua’s daughter received several harassing calls. Her husband was also harassed by local village officials.

8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Guangjun Harassed

Two officers from the Yangkou Town Police Station went to Ms. Guo Guangjun’s home at 4 p.m. on September 29, 2022. They searched her home and confiscated a Falun Gong book.

9. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Chen Jie Not Allowed to Leave China

When Ms. Chen Jie went to apply for a passport on September 23, 2022, she was told by the immigration staff that she was not allowed to leave the country. Ms. Chen went to the local police station and learned that the restriction was imposed by the Xi’an City Police Department.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Qi Xiuhua lives in South Wanggezhuang Village, Yunshan Town, Pingdu City. She was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Yunshan Town Police Station at 10 a.m. on October 1, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Qi was taken to the police station and was released in the afternoon.

Several officers went to Ms. Qi’s home again on October 4, 2022. They took photographs and pressured Ms. Qi to sign some documents.
