(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 73 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Tairong Faces Trial

Ms. Sun Tairong, 52, will be tried in the Daoli District Court at 8:30 a.m. on October 13, 2022. She has been held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center for nearly ten months. She was bound and brutally beaten for doing the Falun Gong exercises and not wearing the detention center uniform.

2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaona Transferred to Prison

When someone brought winter clothes to the Huludao Detention Center for Ms. Zhang Xiaona, Ms. Yang Surong, Ms. Zhang Shijuan, and other imprisoned practitioners on October 9, 2022, they learned that Ms. Zhang Xiaona had been transferred to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. Neither the Huludao Detention Center nor Liaoning Province Women’s Prison notified her family as required by law.

3. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Bai Rongli Harassed

Ms. Bai Rongli was harassed at home on September 28, 2022. Officers asked her why she practiced Falun Gong. They used a cell phone to video-record her while she was questioned. On October 2, 2022, plainclothes officers knocked on her door.

4. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Qi Xiaoyun and Ms. Zhou Ting Sentenced

Ms. Qi Xiaoyun, 49, and Ms. Zhou Ting, 75, were arrested at home by officers from the Guangminglu Police Station on the evening of June 19, 2021. Their homes were ransacked. They were recently sentenced to prison, Ms. Qi to six years and Ms. Zhou to two and a half years.

5. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Qing Detained

Ms. Zhang Qing of Fuyu County was arrested on July 12, 2022. She has since been held in the Qiqihar No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Chongqing] Mr. Li Liangduan Faces Trial

Mr. Li Liangduan was reported for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Officers from the Huashijie Police Station and the Youting Police Station arrested him at home on May 12, 2022. They seized over 20 Falun Gong books, over 20 copies of Minghui Weekly, and two media players. He was interrogated at the Longshui Police Station and then released on the afternoon of May 13. He was placed under house arrest.

Nine officers from the Dazhu Domestic Security Division and the Longshui Police Station detained him on the morning of August 30, 2022. He has since been held in the Dazhu District Detention Center. The Dazhu District Procuratorate filed charges against him with the Dazhu District Court.

7. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Shen Xiaohui and Ms. Rong Yaqin of the Haishu District were arrested by Wangchun Police Station officers in the second half of September 2022. Ms. Jiang Chunya has been missing for some days. Ms. Hong Jiqing was arrested when she went out. Her home was ransacked. Officers are still holding her computer and other items.

8. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Dianrong Arrested, Ms. Cui Jinfeng Detained

Ms. Cui Jinfeng and Ms. Liu Dianrong, both around 70, who live in Fulu Village, were arrested by Boxing County Domestic Security Division officers on September 25, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. The officers seized all of their Falun Gong books and about 500 Falun Gong booklets. Officers took Ms. Liu to the hospital but she was discharged. Ms. Cui is being held in the county detention center.

9. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhong Haijuan, Ms. Zhong Haiyan, and several other practitioners were arrested on September 26, 2022.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chenying Arrested

Ms. Li Chenying was arrested at home by two officers from the Dalianwan Border Defense Police Station on the afternoon of September 28, 2022. They took her to the city for questioning and berated her using foul language. They took her home after interrogating her for more than an hour and warned her, “Stay home! Don’t walk around outside!”

11. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Juping Harassed

Ms. Li Juping was harassed in Yueyang City by instructor Wu Qi and officers from the Chaqi Police Station in Huarong County on October 9, 2022. They photographed her and ordered her not to go out during the Chinese Communist Party 20^th National Congress.

12. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Yang Shanwen Harassed

Yang Shanwen was harassed at home by officers from the Chengzhong Police Station and the Chengnan Police Station at the end of September 2022. The officers took videos and photos.

13. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Xiongzhen Harassed

Ms. Wang Xiongzhe was harassed at home by director Wu and officer Kang from the Gongjiawan Police Station, as well as clerk Cui from her community, on August 11, 2022. They tried to force her to sign four statements renouncing Falun Gong and threatened to arrest her if she did not comply. They went to her home again on August 13 and the afternoon of October 10.

14. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Guixian, Ms. Lu Xiufang, Ms. Chen Guihua, and Ms. Wang Xiufan of the Weidong District were reading a Falun Gong book when they were arrested by officers from the Xinhua District Police Department and community clerks on September 20, 2022. They were released around 3:00 a.m. on September 21 and were notified they were given 12 days of detention.

15. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Yunxia and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Zhu Yunxia, in her 50s, and her husband were arrested by officers from the Huaian City Police Department and the Haikoulu Police Station on October 5, 2022. They are being held in a detention center. The officers seized their computers, printers, and other items from their home.

16. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Chaoqun Detained

Ms. Li Chaoqun’s home was searched by seven or eight officers from the Chaisang District Domestic Security Division, the Gangkou Police Station, and the Gangkou Traffic Division on August 12, 2022. They seized her printers, Falun Gong books, computers, cell phones, mini-speakers, and other items. She is being held in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.

17. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Fengrong and Ms. Du Guiqin Harassed

Ms. Liu Fengrong, who lives in Jingwangjiayuan in the Chaoyang District, was ordered to report to her residential committee office and “talk” to the township government agents and officers from the Nangao Police Station on September 20, 2022. They tried to make her sign a guarantee statement and did not let her leave until almost 4:00 p.m. They called later and again ordered her to report to the office. She no longer complied.

Ms. Du Guiqin who lives in the Chaoyang District is under 24-hour surveillance.

18. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Guo Yurong Arrested

Ms. Guo Yurong of the Dongpo District was arrested in her apartment by officers from the Dongpo District Police Department on the morning of October 10, 2022. They seized her printers, Falun Gong books and materials, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, and other items.

19. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wang Pingchuang Taken to Weinan Prison

The family of Mr. Wang Pingchuang, 47, was informed on October 4, 2022, that he had been taken to Weinan Prison on September 26 to serve a seven-year term.

Weinan Prison, also known as Shaanxi No.2 Prison, is the main prison for male Falun Gong practitioners. Guards instigate the inmates to torture practitioners. The guards tell the inmates their sentences will be reduced if they succeed in forcing the practitioners to renounce their faith.
